Gerald John Patterson, age 78 of Marshall, Arkansas passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 17th, 2026 at his home. He was born in Marshall, Arkansas on July 2nd, 1947 to Corbett James Patterson and Norma Davis Patterson.
Gerald spent his entire working life in construction, a career that reflected his strong work ethic, determination, and pride in honest labor. Gerald was a hardworking man who took pride in his work and in the life he built over the years. Gerald will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his lifelong commitment to hard work, and the quiet strength he carried throughout his life. His memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Corbett Patterson and Norma Davis Patterson: his son, Gregory John Patterson of Perkasie, Pennsylvania; Gregory's wife, Lori Starr; and his half brothers, Paul Ray Williams and Clell Williams.
Gerald is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Anita Patterson; his son, Jeffrey Patterson (Amanda) of Marshall, Arkansas; his brother, James Patterson (Becky) of Marshall, Arkansas; his granddaughter, Kelsey Boyd (Logan) of Marshall, Arkansas; his grandson, Ryan Patterson of Harrison, Arkansas; and his great-granddaughter, Paisley Boyd, who brought him immense joy. His stepson's Randolf Smallwood and Jason Zimmerman both of Marshall, Arkansas and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Gerald will be 2:00 PM Thursday, January 22nd, 2026 at Roller-Coffman Chapel in Marshall, Arkansas with Bro. Clayton Lesley and Bro. James Patterson officiating. Visitation will be 1:00 till 2:00 PM preceding the service. Burial will be in Marshall Memorial Gardens. Bearers are Ryan Patterson, James C. Patterson, Logan Boyd, Geoff Maxey, Greg Egg, and Bobby Woods.

We pray God will bring comfort and peace to Anita and all of Gerold's family.
Like his father and brothers, Gerold (Johm) was always a gentleman.

I worked on a lot of jobs with Gerald, he was a very hard worker. I never knew of him to miss a day of work, I’m sure going to miss him. I’m so sorry to all the friends and family, praying for you.
