Billie Jewel Pennington

of Little Rock, AR

April 7, 1941 - January 14, 2026

Billie Pennington, 84 of Little Rock, passed away at home, Wednesday January 14, in Little Rock, after a long battle with dementia. Born on April 7th, 1941, in Griffithville Arkansas to William and Netty Johnson. She graduated in 1959 from Fuller High School. In 1960 She married Bobby H. Pennington, the love of her life. ''If ever there were a marriage made in heaven, it was ours,'' he very often said to his children, who witnessed their love and devotion to one another every day. And without condition or restriction, they shared their love with their children.

After 25 years of service, she retired from treasury at the Federal Reserve Bank. She was a member of Ironton Baptist Church. She is survived by her three children: Scott Pennington of Little Rock, Lori Pennington of Virginia Beach, and Leah Gibert (Chris) of Fayetteville; four grandchildren, Catherine Bush of West Fork, Sophia Gibert of Washington DC, and Olivia and David Gibert of Fayetteville, and one great-grandson, Grisman Bush, of West Fork.

She was preceded in death by her dearest husband of 35 years, Bobby, sisters Verna (Howard) Herkamp of Frisco Texas, Bonnie Haney (Mack) of Muskogee, OK, brothers Dallas ''Jack'' Johnson (Margaret), Hubert Johnson both of Griffithville, and Herbert Johnson (Betty) of Little Rock.

Her funeral will be held on Monday January 19th at Roller-Drummond Funeral Home, 10900 I-30, Little Rock. Services start at 12:30 with Brother Mike Pearson officiating. Visitation will be at 11:00 prior to services. Interment will be immediately following at Pine Crest Memorial Garden.

Her children would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to the nurses, (especially Britney and Kim), CNAs and Social Worker, Tammy, from LifeTouch Health (formerly Arkansas Hospice) for their delicate supervision of their mother and sharing their intelligence and advice with us. They made all the difference, and we thank them from the bottom of our hearts.

Scott, Lori, and Leah I'm so sorry for the loss of your mom. It has been many years since I have seen her. It was at my dad's funeral Rev. Aaron Carter. I remember babysitting for you three when you girls were first born. Once again your families are in my prayers.

Lori - I am praying for you and your family. Always remember "To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord". Your mom is resting in the Lord's arms. Her memory will live on forever.
