Sharon Marlene Hope

of Hasty, AR

May 31, 1947 - January 9, 2026

Sharon Marlene (Lee) Hope, age 78, of Hasty, Arkansas went straight to the loving arms of Jesus on Friday morning January 9, 2026 after 7 weeks in the hospital and a tough fight! She had many ups and downs during that time. She was able to visit off and on, joking like she does, even in hard times. Sharon has been so strong and such an inspiration to so many people through the years, especially after her stroke almost 20 years ago. After the effects of her stroke, she had to learn the basics of life again. She worked hard and with help from family and friends, was able to write her book, ''Strokes Are Not for Sissies. A Story of Hope'' which she was very proud of. We take comfort that she is now with our dad, our grandparents and many other loved ones. We are especially thankful she is now WHOLE again! We look forward to the time when we are all together in Heaven!!

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jerry Lee Hope, who died in 2017, as well as her parents Troy Pace Lee and Vesta (Robinson) Lee, and her brothers Dr. Roy Lee and Ron Lee. She is survived by her sister, Jeannine (Lee) von Gonten and her husband Charles of Houston TX; her sister-in-law Lyndia Lee of Wildwood, TX; her two daughters, Cindy (Hope) Linn and her husband Brian, and Melissa (Hope) Johnston and her husband Bryan; three grandsons, Darren Johnston, Codey Johnston, and Zachary Linn, all of Harrison; 2 aunts, Shirley and Donna Lee and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Sharon was born May 31, 1947, at the Harrison Hospital to Troy Pace Lee and Vesta Lea (Robinson) Lee and grew up on the family farm in Hasty. She had such a happy childhood in a loving home where her mama and daddy taught her the art of cooking and music along with the value of friendship. At 3, she moved with her family to Texas City, Texas where she loved going to Kohfeldt Elementary and became quite the roller skater and baton twirler. At church there, she met one of her best friends, Linda B. At 13, she returned to Hasty with her parents and brother, Ron. She attended Western Grove where she was a Cheerleader and dedicated Western Grove Warrior through and through.

Sharon was a Christian and spent years serving the Lord. As a teen, Sharon spent many summers at Rock Haven Bible camp where she made special friends that she still held close until this day; June, Marie and Esther just to name a few. She spent a lot of time at the Yardelle Chapel where she sang and taught Bible School with her mother. She also sang on the radio with ''The Joy Club''. In her adult life, she served at Archview Baptist Church in Little Rock as a daycare and Bible School teacher and joyfully played piano for Children's Church. She was a great storyteller. The children especially loved her felt-board Bible stories.
After high school, she attended UCA and met her roommates and life-long friends, Susie, Ruth and Judy. She went on to Beauty School where she met Kaye Hope Pinkerton, sister of her future husband, Jerry Lee Hope. She and Jerry were married in 1968 in the pastor's study at Baseline Baptist Church. They had two daughters. Sharon was a homemaker and wonderful mom to Cindy and Melissa, as well as their cousins and friends! She loved her two sons-in-law as if they were her own. She was over the moon about her three sweet grandsons! She would always say, ''I love you more than myself.'' Jerry and her family were all so devoted to her! They were able to return the love she'd always shown them by ensuring she was given great care at home. Becoming a mother and later, Granny (Gee) was the absolute joy of her life and she did it well! After 38 years, she and Jerry moved to Harrison where they enjoyed the rest of their lives and made even more new and lasting friends.

She was a beautiful person inside and out. People commented on her ''movie star looks'' but were equally impressed with her friendly nature and compassionate spirit. She had the best sense of humor and jokingly call herself a ''stand-up'' comedienne. She will always be loved and terribly missed!

Visitation was Thursday, January 15, 2026, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home in Harrison.

Funeral service was Friday, January 16, 2026, at Yardelle Chapel, with Bro. Derwin Martin officiating.

Burial followed at Sand Hill Cemetery, Yardelle, Arkansas.

In Little Rock, Arkansas, A Celebration of Life was held from Sunday, January 18, 2026, at Archview Baptist Church.
