Peggy Joyce Lewis, 90, a lifelong resident of Clarksville, passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2026, in Paris, Arkansas. She was born March 12, 1935, in Clarksville to John Benson and Ruby Mae (Frederick) Harris.
Peggy worked at the Clarksville Shoe Factory and Sara Lee for many years. Throughout her life Peggy enjoyed gardening. She also loved pets and cherished her dog and her cat.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Clarence Lewis; her parents, Ben and Ruby Harris; two brothers, Frederick Harris, and Robert Harris; and three sisters, Mary Harris, June Harvey, and Lorine Broonfield.
Peggy is survived by her son, John Mark Lewis of Hot Springs, Arkansas; her daughter, Teresa Gail Romero and husband Juan of Corning, Kansas; four grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and numerous other family and friends.
Graveside Service will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at West Mt. Zion Cemetery in Hartman, Arkansas. Officiated by Bro. Ken Sisco.
Pallbearers will be Farrell Patterson, Shane Nichols, Robert Heflin, Andrew Heflin, and Keith Clayborn.

I worked with Peggy at the Shoe plant and I later saw her in the hospital. I visited her several times over the past five years. I loved Peggy as a precious friend.

Our prayers for sympathy and peace for this family. I just became friends with Peggy of late. I loved to visit with her often and enjoyed our chats. She was a sweet lady 🌸
