of Harrison, AR

February 2, 1944 - January 4, 2026

Rita Zoe Still Fowble, 81, of Harrison, Arkansas, passed away into her eternal home on Sunday, January 4, 2026. She was born February 2, 1944, in Carrollton, Arkansas, to Oscar Virgil Still and Ethel Shevon (Stipp) Still.

After graduating from college, Rita made her home in the Washington, D.C., area and lived briefly in Vermillion, Illinois, before returning to the Ozarks, where she worked and later retired after decades of service with Social Security. Rita loved to travel, see new places, take her nieces, nephews, and cousins on adventures, and try new foods, often saying she would try anything ''as long as it didn't eat her first.''
Rita was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank Fowble; her sister, Sharon Kay Still Terherst Smith; her granddaughter, Cindy Mummort; and her great-grandson, Zack.

She is survived by her children, Phyllis Feiser (Clark) of Natchez, Mississippi; George Fowble of Ohio; and Lori Fowble of Harrison; her brother, James (Ann) Still of Harrison; her special friend, David Thomason of Alpena; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

In accordance with Rita's wishes, cremation arrangements are private.

Rita, Sharon, James, and I rode the neighborhood school bus everyday. We all remembered Rita's birthday...it was Ground Hog Day. She had beautiful shiny red hair. She was a special person I admired and possessed kindness and consideration for all she met. We send our sympathy to James and her family for their loss.

Rita and I met at First Baptist Church where we both were members. We were able to visit these last few weeks while she was at the nursing home. She was a very pleasant lady who had a strong faith in God. May her family feel God’s peace and strength now and in the days ahead.
