of Cave City, AR
April 29, 1954 - December 30, 2025
Freeman Dale Brokaw, 71, of Cave City, Arkansas, passed away on December 30, 2025. He was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend; a man whose life was shaped by curiosity, independence, and a deep appreciation for simple joys. Freeman was saved and of the Pentecostal faith.
Freeman was best known for two great passions: his chickens and trading. Whether tending to his flock or watching the markets, he found purpose in observation, patience, and timing. He took pride in caring for his chickens, often finding peace and humor in their daily routines. Trading, to him, was more than numbers, it was a puzzle, a challenge, and a lifelong interest that kept his mind sharp and engaged.
Freeman had practical wisdom and a steady presence. He enjoyed sharing stories, offering advice when asked, and doing things his own way. Those who knew him will remember his dedication, his routines, and the quiet satisfaction he took in the things he loved.
Freeman is survived by his wife, Jackie Brokaw; his children Janice (Eddie) Hodges of Judsonia, Anna (George) Passmore of Judsonia, April (Daren) Phillips of Judsonia, Tiffany (Quentin) Cahoon of Violet Hill, Austin (Samantha) Brokaw of Cave City, and Christina (Sam) Arbogast of Florida; Grandchildren include Tyler (Holly) Hodges of Bald Knob, Gracie Hodges of Judsonia, Seth (Kaylie) of Judsonia, Jacob Phillips, Hannah Phillips, Karl Isom of Judsonia, Sarah (Hunter) Poskey of Judsonia, Tony Taylor, Mecca Taylor, and Dylan Taylor; Great-grandchildren include Lendzey Hodges, Adalynn Poskey, Maggie Poskey, Levi Phillips, Zadie Phillips, Eliza Phillips, Briar Phillips, and Ivory Zellar Taylor; siblings, Diane (Gary) Girtman, Agnes (Robin) Melcher, and Allen (Michelle) Brokaw, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and friends who loved him dearly.
Freeman is preceded in death by his parents, Margaret and Ray Brokaw; his brother, Randall Brokaw; and his great-grandson, Colton Michael Dale Hodges.
Freeman will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
