of Conway, AR
October 19, 1945 - December 29, 2025
Jearl Wayne Looney, age 80, of Conway, Arkansas, went peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior on December 29, 2025. He was born on October 19, 1945, in Trumann, Arkansas, to James and Vera Looney.
Jearl was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose love for his family and joy for life left a lasting mark on everyone who knew him. He proudly served in the Army National Guard and built a lifelong career as a skilled TV repairman. A faithful member of Antioch Baptist Church, Jearl lived his life with kindness, integrity, and a ready smile that made others feel right at home.
Jearl had a spirit of adventure and curiosity, he loved searching for ''buried treasure'' with his metal detector, exploring the country, mining for gemstones, collecting coins, scuba diving, and crafting jewelry and beautiful woodwork. He especially enjoyed building sturdy dog houses, both to sell, and for his grandkids to turn into playhouses.
He was also a man who appreciated the simple joys: a Dr Pepper in hand, a table full of sweets, his favorite meals from TaMolly's or Uncle Tim's BBQ, and an old John Wayne western or episode of Gunsmoke playing on the TV.
Above all else, Jearl loved his family. He was the rock, the laughter, and the heart of every gathering, truly ''the best daddy in the whole wide world.'' He faced every day with a cheerful goofy smile and his trademark phrase, ''fine and dandy,'' no matter what life brought his way.
Jearl is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Martha Watson Looney; his children Joey Looney, Mark Looney (Tess), Jason Looney (Michelle), and Lorie Dodson (Allen); grandchildren MacKenzie Yates, Madison Yates, Logan Looney, Joslyn Looney, Carter Looney, and Jake Looney; and his great-grandson Oliver Yates. He is also survived by his brothers Billy Looney, Jackie Looney (Wanda), and Jon Looney (Kathy); his sister Cauline Knight (Chuck); sister-in-law Billy Jean Looney; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Vera Looney, and his brother, Jimmy Looney.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 2, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway, followed by a celebration of Jearl's life at 2:00 PM. Burial will take place at Crestlawn Memorial Park.
Jearl's legacy of love, laughter, and faith will live on in all who were blessed to know him.
