Hugh Jordan Dewey went to his heavenly home on December 27, 2025,

shared 46 beautiful years of marriage.
Hugh was a devout Christian and faithful member of First Baptist Church in
Flippin. He was a hardworking man who loved to stay busy, whether working,
mowing grass, or doing carpentry. He had a special love for cars and restored a
1926 Ford Model T Touring Street Rod with his son-in-law Greg, now his
granddaughter Stacie and Greg continue to give the car the special care he
once gave it. Above all, Hugh cherished his family.
He worked as a truck driver for Orscheln Brothers Truck Line in Kansas City, in
1977 he purchased the Flippin Car Wash and Nubbins Restaurant. He worked for
Ranger Boats for 38 years. Hugh was a Member of the Masonic Lodge for 55
years and achieved the rank of 32nd Degree Scottish Rite.
He is survived by his wife, Patty Dewey; his children, Glenda Lee Dewey of
Yellville, Vincent ''Bud'' Dewey of Mountain Home, Cheri (Greg) Hopper of
Flippin, and Vernon Hugh Dewey of Mountain Home; his grandchildren, Stacie
(Noel) Goldsmith, Mack D. Hopper, Lauren Dewey, Joel (Anne) Dewey, and
Jordan Dewey; his great-grandchildren, Mason Goldsmith, Maya, Malachi, and
Jeremiah Dewey; and his nieces, Phyllis Snow and Paula Hill of Hampton,
Nebraska.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Pauline Jones and Delores
Jean; his granddaughter, Emily Ann Dewey; and his first wife, Donna Rose
Dewey.
A visitation will be held Sunday, January 4, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the First
Baptist Church in Flippin. The family will have a private burial at a later date at
Flippin Cemetery.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the caretakers of Baxter
Health and the Hospice House during this time.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks in
Mountain Home or to Flippin Cemetery, P.O. Box 211, Flippin, AR 72634.
Hugh will be remembered as a wonderful Husband, Father, Papa and Uncle
who deeply loved the Lord and always had a word of encouragement and
smile for others.
Arrangements are in the care of Roller-Burns Funeral Home.

We had many wonderful memories of Hugh at Ranger, racetrack, and local parades. We will miss his smiles and all his stories.
Until we meet again, Pops!
Prayers for the family.

My grandfather was a very good hearted man. I will miss him. And cherish every moment I had with him. And always remember everything he taught me about life. May he rest in peace.

I’m so very sad about Hugh’s death, but I plan to see him when I get to heaven. We had our church group of kids who ran around together in our teens. We celebrated our weddings and welcoming each other’s children into the world. I have many happy memories of our lives together. I have remembered his dear family in my prayers. I believe he is enjoying the time together with family and friends who are with him.

So sorry for your loss. This man was one of a kind (the best kind) and will be deeply missed by all that knew him. So many White Sands memories, always had a smile on his face and love in his heart. Keeping the family in my thoughts and prayers! 🙏🏻

Big hugs to Vernon and to the rest of the family.

He will be greatly missed!!!

Condolences 🙏

Truly a great friend
See you in heaven by brother in Christ
