shared 46 beautiful years of marriage.
Hugh was a devout Christian and faithful member of First Baptist Church in

mowing grass, or doing carpentry. He had a special love for cars and restored a
1926 Ford Model T Touring Street Rod with his son-in-law Greg, now his
granddaughter Stacie and Greg continue to give the car the special care he
once gave it. Above all, Hugh cherished his family.
He worked as a truck driver for Orscheln Brothers Truck Line in Kansas City, in
1977 he purchased the Flippin Car Wash and Nubbins Restaurant. He worked for
Ranger Boats for 38 years. Hugh was a Member of the Masonic Lodge for 55

Hugh will be remembered as a wonderful Husband, Father, Papa and Uncle
who deeply loved the Lord and always had a word of encouragement and
smile for others.
Arrangements are in the care of Roller-Burns Funeral Home.

I met Hugh back in August, while helping my Mother in law, who was going through a hardship of her own. Over a 6 week period I remember observing Hugh from across the street and could tell his aura was beautiful and pure.
I saw a great neighbor, a loving husband, and a sweet animal lover.
When I got to formally meet him and Mrs Patty, I could tell they were definitely soul mates. That they were more than partners here in this life, but even before this one, and still would be long after.
Every morning I would get to say hi to him in passing, between running errands, and walking the dog. I'd get to chat with him here and there, share stories of mine and hear stories of his.
I loved watching him bask in God's sunlight, from his garage, in his chair, as he would fall asleep in its warmth.
I don't know exactly what it is was about Hugh, but crossing his path was no coincidence for me. He inspired me to enjoy the present moment no matter what life brings. I will never forget him and how he left his mark on me and my two little boys.
I look forward to the next time we meet Mr Hugh, I'll be sure to collect as many memories and stories as I can while I am here...

My condolences to the family of Brother Hugh. I always enjoyed visiting with Brother Hugh at Ranger when he was conducting the tours through the finish room and was especially proud to be able to present Brother Hugh with his 50 Year Masonic Pin and Certificate.

Uncle Hugh was an integral part of my childhood. He was an amazing person. I will cherish the memories always.
My thoughts and prayers are with each and every one of the family members.

Patty, my heart goes out to you and the family. Hugh was a very good friend of my late husband, Eddie Handlen. We four had a lot of great times together. And we will all see each other again in heaven. I pray for peace and comfort as you process this loss. Patty, please let me know if there is anything I can do or even just pray with you. Until we meet again, Pops!
Prayers for the family.

My grandfather was a very good hearted man. I will miss him. And cherish every moment I had with him. And always remember everything he taught me about life. May he rest in peace.

I’m so very sad about Hugh’s death, but I plan to see him when I get to heaven. We had our church group of kids who ran around together in our teens. We celebrated our weddings and welcoming each other’s children into the world. I have many happy memories of our lives together. I have remembered his dear family in my prayers. I believe he is enjoying the time together with family and friends who are with him.

So sorry for your loss. This man was one of a kind (the best kind) and will be deeply missed by all that knew him. So many White Sands memories, always had a smile on his face and love in his heart. Keeping the family in my thoughts and prayers! 🙏🏻
