Nancy Helen Smith, 89, of Batesville, passed away Saturday, December 27, 2025.
She was born November 24, 1936 in Banner, Arkansas to Sherman Henry Jeffrey and Nancy E. (Hunter) Jeffrey.
Helen was a devoted Methodist who also enjoyed gardening, sewing, and living her life for her family.
Survivors include four sons, Randy Nash (Cathy) of Batesville, Arkansas, Jeffrey Nash (Lynn) of Wichita, Kansas, Bobby Nash of Wichita, Kansas, Michael Smith (Lisa) of Cave City, Arkansas; two brothers, Harold Jeffrey and Alvin Jeffrey; seven grandchildren, Amy Miller (Daniel), Brittany Hardin (Leighton), Heather Nash, Ryan Nash (Julie), Jessica Lies, Aleena Smith, and Carrie Russell (Tom), and twelve great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Smith; her parents; two brothers, Calvin and Charles Jeffrey; two sisters, Geneva Coppock, Claudean Johnson; one daughter, Debbie Presley, and one grandson, Chris Goodwin.
Pallbearers are Ryan Nash, Martin ''Pug'' Steward, Harold ''JR'' Jeffrey, Chris Wright, Shelby Steward, and Leighton Hardin. Honorary pallbearers are Shorty Coles and Bill Pierce.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 2, 2026 at 10:00am at the Desha United Methodist Church with Cathy Mcenna officiating. Burial will follow at Alderbrook Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at the Roller-Crouch Funeral Home in Batesville.

Mrs. Helen was always so kind and supportive of me when I was serving the Desha congregation. She was a true light of Jesus in this world. I’m sure the love she was shown on her way into the gates of heaven were ad amazing as she was. My prayers of peace and comfort are with Randy and the rest of her loving family 🙏🏻

So sorry to get the news of Helen passing, we spent many good times with Helen and Wilber when they lived in Kansas and on visits to Arkansas. You all are in our thoughts and prayers.

So sorry to hear we lost another cousin. She was loved by the entire family. Sorry I can’t be there.
