October 9, 1942 - December 20, 2025
Russell Leo Hensley, age 83, of Yellville, Arkansas, passed away on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Russell was born on October 9, 1942, in Pearcy, Arkansas, to Isaac and Violet (Brumley) Hensley. He graduated from Yellville-Summit High School and proudly served his country. After enlisting in the United States Navy, he served for ten months before enlisting in the United States Army, where he continued his military service until his retirement.
On January 16, 1981, Russell married Wol Son Yi. Together, they shared a beautiful life built on love, devotion, and family.
Following his retirement from the Army, Russell returned to Arkansas and worked at a furniture factory for several years before beginning employment with Altronics, where he later retired in 2010.
Russell was a true family man who cherished his roles as a husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He loved country and folk music, especially memories of his mother's ''pickin' and grinnin'.'' His favorite food was anything his wife, Wol Son, prepared. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, but most of all, Russell loved making people laugh with his good sense of humor.
Russell is survived by his wife, Wol Son Hensley; his sons, Avery and Michael; his daughter, Victoria; three brothers, Marvin, R.G., and Eddie; three sisters, Beatrice, Sandra, and Lewonna; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and his beloved ''pickin' and grinnin''' mother, Violet, age 109.
He was preceded in death by his father, Isaac Hensley; two sons, Sean and Christopher; and three brothers, Larry, Gary, and Calvin.
Officiate: Jon Norvell
Pallbearers: Cody Williams, Chris Schultz, Steven Schultz, Eric Hensley, Ryan Hensley, Jeff Piotrowski
Russell will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, December 28, 2025, at 1:00 p.m., at Roller-Burns Funeral Home, with funeral services beginning at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Layton Cemetery.

Russell was a good guy and my prayers are with his family in this time of sorrow. Rest in peace, Russell.

Your parents were always a wonderful addition to knowing you, Victoria, and I'm grateful for the warm memories I have of your dad and your mom and you. I'll always remember your dad getting shoved into the hedges by your quarter horse who hated men, but your dad was determined we would all get a ride if we wanted one.

So very sorry for your loss, he will be missed by his granddaughters!

Condolences to the family.
Sincerely,
Mike and Dianna Roller
