Patricia Ann Keck

of Bryant, AR

October 4, 1935 - December 18, 2025

Ann Miller Keck, born October 4, 1935, died on Thursday, December 18, 2025 at the age of 90 years old. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Charles Walter Keck, her oldest son James Micheal Keck, and her youngest son, Timothy Carter ''Casey'' Keck. She is survived by her sons Charles Patrick Keck (Linda), Christopher Kelly Keck, granddaughter Tanya Michelle Keck of Olive Branch, Mississippi, Bill C Miller of California and a host of much-loved nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Ann was born in Little Rock, Arkansas and attended Mount St. Mary and Little Rock Public Schools. She received a BSE from UALR, and a MSE from the University of Central Arkansas. She was an elementary school librarian at Otter Creek Elementary for 19 ½ years. When she retired, the library was named Keck Media Center in her honor. Ann loved books and children and always felt amazed that she was paid to do something that brought her so much joy. Ann, a lifelong Methodist, was a member of First United Methodist Church, where she enjoyed learning more about what the Trinty hoped she was becoming.

There will be a celebration of Ann's life at First United Methodist Church of Bryant on Saturday, December 27, 2025. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. followed immediately by the service at 11:00 a.m. She asks that her many friends and loved ones rejoice with her as she moves into her new life.

Memorials can be made to Bryant Library, 201 Prickett Road, Bryant Arkansas, 72022

I sat behind her in church and attended school with Christopher and Kelly at Fuller and Mills. I loved Ann for many reasons one of which was her dry wit and since of humor the last being the Sunday before she passed, as we were leaving the service she turned to me and said, "My cane is prettier than yours" I broke out in a big smile and said "Yes it is, and it suites you well". I will miss her and the little barbs we shared. Grace will find you peace.

I have known and loved Mrs. Keck in nearly every stage of my life. I am so grateful for her and the love she showed me.
"What though the radiance which was once so bright
Be now forever taken from my sight,
Though nothing can bring back the hour
Of splendour in the grass, of glory in the flower
I We will grieve not, rather find
Strength in what remains behind ."

Patrick, Kelly, Tanya, and extended family, I am deeply saddened to learn of Ann's passing. She has been a dear friend ever since I first met her when Casey and Kelly were among my students at Fuller Junior High (1972-1975). I think Ann was at Mabelvale Elementary at the time. She was always so kind and gracious, even when I didn't live up to her expectations. I can hear her, "Now, Marsha, this won't do," and we'd fix it. We even took a couple of road trips after retirement. Ann and I drove down to Oxford, MS, to see our old friend, Sue Rogers. Later, I drove the two of them to Bentonville to see Crystal Bridges. Lots of laughter and sweet memories! I will miss her prayers; she always reminded me that Tim and I were in her daily prayers. May sweet memories give you comfort and strength.

DearTanya and Family,
I always enjoyed my conversations with Granny Keck, wise, dry wit, and sweet lady. Hearing her reminiscent about school days always brought smiles which said it all. She loved children and teaching them to read. She was an excellent role model for all educators. Her granddaughter, Tanya, carries her legacy. God bless and prayers.

And came to me one day while I was teaching third grade at Otter Creek Elementary and said that she had a dream that I would be the librarian when she retired. She gave me the name of a professor at UCA and I began my journey to get in my library of science masters degree so that when she retired, I could take over her position. I had a family and I commuted from Benton to Conway once a week for three years and got my degree in library science. She was my inspiration and I loved my job after she retired and was the librarian at our Creek for 22 years, I will miss her dearly thank you Ann.

Mrs Keck taught my son Spencer at the Otter Creek school. Her love of kids and books inspired the spirit of the school where she was Libarian for two decades. She was a wonderful woman who shared her warmth with everyone she met. Her passing ends an era in my view of an intimacy of books and teaching that was so personally meaningful. An amazing woman that leaves a legacy that will go on and on.
