Linda Jeanne Bolton Byrd, 87 of Searcy, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on December 15, 2025. She was born in Searcy, Arkansas on July 19, 1938, to Franklin Audley Bolton, Sr. and Della Pearl (Edwards) Bolton. Linda joined West Race Baptist Church in 1954 and continued a life of the Baptist faith.
Linda's occupational history reflects varied skills of retail, factory, and service wherein she eventually retired as the Food Services Manager of Rose Bud Public Schools. She loved to feed the children. Her favorite pastimes included gardening, mowing the grass, and tending to the critters, mostly horses. She took great joy and pride in watching her children and grandchildren ride and show their horses.
As a testament to her full and blessed life, Linda is survived by three children: Linda Collins and Jim (Lisa) Burnett of Searcy, and Johnnie (Philip) Schaumleffel of Quitman; seven grandchildren: Brian Lee, Fallon Collins, Jimmy Burnett, Heather Reddick, Carrie Martens, Shelbie Chance, and Alexander ''Xander'' Schaumleffel; ten great-grandchildren and a host of loving family and friends.
Linda was preceded in death and greeted in heaven by her parents, a sister, Evelyn Forrest, a brother, F. A. ''Buddy'' Bolton, Jr., and husbands, John Ballard (2000) and Doyle Byrd (2024).
A funeral service will be held at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at 10 AM. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Searcy.
