Harold Edwin Dawkins, age 86, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2025. He was born on July 14, 1939, to Ward Edwin and Theda Mae Dawkins, and was one of ten siblings in a close-knit, loving family.
Harold lived a life defined by hard work, generosity, and deep devotion to those he loved. He married the love of his life, Glenys VanDenburg Dawkins, with whom he shared fifty-nine years of partnership, laughter, and unwavering companionship. Harold was known by all who met him as an extremely funny and opinionated man, quick with a joke, always ready with a spirited comment, and never afraid to speak his mind. He and Glenys were also generous with the resources in which God blessed them, opening their home to many in need of a place to stay. Their hospitality touched countless lives and reflected their shared belief in being the hands and feet of Jesus, caring for others.
Above all, Harold loved Jesus deeply and lived his faith with sincerity. He found great comfort in knowing he was ready to meet his Savior, a hope that brought him peace throughout his final days.
He is survived by his wife, Glenys; his daughter, Nicole Dawkins McAfee, and husband, John McAfee; and his son, Scott Beau Dawkins, and wife, Staci Dawkins. Harold was immensely proud of his family and found great joy in being ''Granddad'' to his grandchildren, Slaton Beau Dawkins and wife, Emily Dawkins, Jaxon Rees McAfee, Maryn McAfee Kehler and husband, Griffin Kehler, and his great-grandson, Jhet Ryker Dawkins. His eyes always lit up when talking about them, and his love for his family was evident in all he did.
Harold will be remembered for his warm smile, quick wit, bold opinions, unwavering faith, and boundless generosity. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and service to others. Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known him.
"Celebration of life" service details will be provided by the family following the Holiday season.

Glenys I lift you up in my prayers, may God’s love cover you during this time. You are a blessing and have been blessed to have had a good man and family to lean on. I share in loss, Cindy passed away two months ago. “And this too shall pass,” as momma used to say. God bless you and your family.

My heartfelt condolences to Glenn's, and their family. Praying the good memories will sustain you during this difficult time.
