of North Little Rock, AR
July 16, 1933 - November 23, 2025
Thomas Wesley Gunter ''Pat'', age 92, of Sherwood passed away November 23, 2025. Pat was born July 16,1933 in Vilonia, AR to Jack and Lila Gunter. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois ''Jean''; his parents; three brothers, JD, Elmer Lee and Sam; a daughter, Laura; a granddaughter, Trisha Gunter and great-grandson, Matthew Treadway.
He is survived by two sons, Terry Gunter (wife, Allison) and Tim Gunter (wife, Donna); a daughter, Joy Gunter; three grandsons, Trent Gunter, Travis Gunter (wife, Jordan) and Trevor Gunter; two granddaughters, Katie Treadway (husband, Austin) and Kelsey Ferrell (husband, Mitch); five great-grandchildren, Cruz and Nash Gunter, Haley and Will Treadway and Kamryn Ferrell. Pat always considered his longtime neighbors as family: Greg and Kelley Kelley and their children, Caleb and Hannah. Tracy Morgan was a special family friend. He loved them all dearly.
Pat worked as a Pipefitter through Local 155 for over 30 years and worked on many of the larger building projects across Arkansas. He was very proud to have served in the Army as a master tank driver in the Korean War. He used to laugh that the government automatically slotted him as a driver, assuming that someone who listed ''farmer'' as his occupation would have experience driving a tractor, truth was, his family had never owned a tractor when he was growing up. He was a life member of the NLR Elks 1004, proudly serving as an officer for 18 years. After retiring, he took special pride in maintaining Elks Park for over 20 years. He said someone had to do it and that it kept him young. He loved his Elk family and they loved him. He also was a life member of VFW post 11474. In his final years, he suffered through Dementia but always remained positive. Even though his memory had diminished, he was always smiling, humming and saying funny one-liners. A special thanks to Trent for taking such good care of Papaw during his late stages of dementia. ''Pat'' Gunter was a great son, brother, husband, dad, granddad and great-granddad. He always made time for others and was LOVED by ALL!!!
Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday, December 2nd and funeral services at 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 3rd both at Roller-Owens Funeral Home, 5509 JFK Blvd., North Little Rock.
Interment will follow with a procession to Henderson Cemetery in Pangburn.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association: www.alz.org, 800-272-3900 or Elks National Foundation at ELKS.org

What an incredible inspiration he was to so many. His one liners, those crazy good sweet and sour pork chops, the smell of his cigar, the amazing friendship he and Dad shared, and the love he had for your mom….unstoppable. We will miss you Uncle Pat - give Aunt Jean a kiss, and Mom and Dad one too. I hope with time the hole that gets left behind by someone so awesome becomes filled with sunshine as we celebrate his life. Love you all so much ❤️ Teresa & Tom

Everyone loved Pat, “Daddy-O” to several of us. He will be missed & my prayers of comfort go out to Joy & all of the family. Rest in Love & Peace Daddy-O.

Now your with Aunt Jeanie tell her I love her and I love you to Uncle Pat

My prayers go out to the Gunter family. Pat was part of the Elks family who welcomed me into the Lodge. He always had a smile for you and his commitment to the BPOE was undeniable. He kept his family close, as that was a big part of who he was. He will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.

Mr. Pat “DaddyO” was a wonderful man and meant a lot to me and my family. It was an honor to have known him. Elks are never forgotten, never forsaken. Until we meet again my friend. To Our Absent Member.

From the first time I met Pat we were friends and within an hour he was sponsoring me as a member of the Elks. I've always been honored by that since Pat didn't sponsor too many members.
He was very special to us and will be terribly missed.

I was blessed to have known him.

God speed Pat. You’re tough act to follow but we’re trying to do our best. Keep smiling at us.
