Chris Anne Marie Swanson

of Conway, AR

October 28, 1951 - November 23, 2025

Chris Anne Marie Swanson, 74, of Perryville, Arkansas passed away on November 23, 2025 in Conway, Arkansas surrounded by the family she loved more than anything in this world. Born on October 28, 1951 in Boston, Massachusetts, Chris lived a life defined by strength, love, humor and an unwavering spirit.

Chris was a proud mother of four, Paul Hussey (Kasey) of Little Rock, Jennifer Welter (Paul) of Conway, John Hoffmann (Sarah Prisock) of Conway and Joseph Swanson (Brittney) of Perryville. She was a devoted grandmother to seven, Alicia Hussey of Conway, Austin, Jacob and Lukas Welter of Conway, Kadyn Smith of Conway and Skylan and Silas Iverson of Perryville. She also delighted in her two great-grandchildren, Stella and Elijah Welter of Conway. To Chris, her family was her greatest accomplishment. No matter how many titles she held in life, ''Mom'' and ''Granny'' were the ones she treasured most.

Chris offered compassion freely, loved fiercely and touched countless lives with her warmth and loyalty. Her home and yard were always filled with vibrant plants, blooming flowers and animals she adored. A true free spirit, wild at heart, deeply loving and unapologetically herself, Chris welcomed everyone with open arms and loved with her whole heart.

She was tough, feisty and always fair. Beneath her fire was a heart of pure gold. She faced life's challenges head on with grit and courage and she carried a personality impossible to forget. Her memory, her stories and her presence left a lasting imprint on all who knew her.

Her legacy lives on in her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and every life she touched. Chris will be remembered for her tenacity, her humor, her fierce independence and the love she gave without limits.
Chris' spirit will continue to bloom in the gardens she tended, the hearts she filled and the family she leaves behind.

Services will be held on Friday, November 28, 2025 starting at 3pm, with a rosary starting one hour prior to the funeral mass at St. Joe Catholic Church.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Partners for Progress in Perryville, AR.

So saddened to hear of Chris' passing. She put up a hard fight and was a wonderful person. Chris was one of the first ladies to welcome me and my wife to Union Valley Southern Baptist Church in Perryville and was a frequent visitor of the church during my years as pastor. We are going to miss her a lot. I pray that our heavenly Father will bless and comfort each of you in the days ahead. Pastor Larry Hibbard

To All the Famiy: please accept my condolences to you all during this difficult time. I met Chris about seven years ago when she had just moved to Perry County. I suggested to her that she should consider volunteering at the Partners for Progress food pantry, just as I had for several years. She took my advice and gave of her time and energy for several years, until health problems caused her to have to stop. She was a tireless worker and was quick to learn any task put before her. Through the years she had become one of my dearest friends. She a n d several other ladies and myself would always look forward to having lunch at one of the local restaurants almost every Friday. During these happy times, we would attempt to solve all the world's problems. Chris loved people, especially the under privileged. She was always gathering donations of food, clothing and household items for those in need. She was a beautiful soul, both inside and out, and I will miss her very much. Till we meet again, Chris, "Go rest high on that mountain, girl, your work on earth is done"
.

My love for Chris is unconditional. My dearest friend, I'm going to miss calling you and our 1 or 2 hrs. Of talking about any and everything under the sun. You were a saint and no one can ever fill your spot in my heart. My only regret it that we didn't get your message until yesterday. Brandy and I will listen to it when we are feeling down and missing you.
I can only imagine how happy you are now, I'm most certain your changing the world up there. You were and always will be the strongest woman I ever knew, your advice you would give me was always perfect. Thank you for being there for me for my family in everything that was going on in our life's, oh how I already miss you terably.

Ms. Chris will be deeply missed. I still remember the first time I met her. How warm, kind, and welcoming she was, and how she always made me feel at home. I’ll miss running into her at the grocery store and having those sweet little conversations that always made my day. I’m praying for her family, and I’m so sorry for their loss.

I didn’t know her very long but she was always smiling and seemed to be a good person and Mother. Her son Joe is so Special to me, if he gets all his kindness and his love for family from her, then she was precious in my eyes. God Bless all her kids and family, she was so loved. What can I say.

She was my sister. We did everything together from childhood through high school and on. She loved her children and families. She was her own person. I'll miss her.
