Frances Anne Berry

of West Memphis, AR

November 26, 1921 - November 14, 2025

Frances Anne (Howie) Berry passed away peacefully on November 14, 2025 at the age of 103. She was born November 26, 1921 in Montrose, Arkansas to her parents, Lelia Mae (Turner) Howie and Tom Howie.

She was preceded by her husband, Harold Berry (a veteran of World War II). She is survived by two sons, Wesley (Diane) and John (Judith); four grandchildren, Lance (Lisa), John (Donna), Sean (Cori) and Ashley and six great grandchildren, Ruth Ellen, Mary Frances, Benji, Madison, Connor and Peyton.

Frances was a member of "the greatest generation". She grew up and came of age during the "Great Depression" and World War II. The challenges she encountered (as with so many of that generation) led to her strength of character and her devotion to God, her family and her love of country. She built her life on honesty and hard work which set an example for her sons and others who knew her. She and her husband, Harold were dearly loved not only by family, but their friends as well. Outside of the Church, her family and work, Frances enjoyed working in the yard and growing her favorite flowers "knockout roses".

Frances Anne Berry lived a full and good life and she will be lovingly remembered by her family.

In lieu of flowers, send memorials to West Helena United Methodist Church.

So very sorry to hear this. I remember Frances well from her days in West Helena, and WHUMC. She was a joy to know, and such an example of true Christianity.
