Kathryn "Kathy" June Madewell , age 78, of Harrison, AR passed away with family by her side on Sunday, November 16, 2025 in Harrison, AR. She was born on June 18, 1947 to Verlin L. and Hester E. (Sims) Brisco in Dogpatch, AR.
A lifelong resident of Newton and Boone County, Kathy married the love of her life, Colonel 'Cob' Madewell on November 12, 1965 in Harrison, AR. She spent her time helping Cob operate Madewell Auto Sales, working at Levi's, Johnson Manufacturing and Film Transit, among other places. Along with spoiling her grandkids and great grandkids, she enjoyed playing bingo, listening to music and collecting owls.
She is survived by her two daughters, Sandra Russell of Green Forest, AR and Kelly Chambers (Allen) of Harrison, AR; seven grandchildren, Alysa Wyatt (Alex), Bryanna Russell, Lakyn Chambers, Landon Chambers (Roger) and Clay Chambers and four great grandchildren, Russell, Opal, Ellis and Gus Wyatt.
She is also survived by sisters-in-law, Hazel Harding & Dona Madewell; long time member of her family, Scott Russell and a host of other family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Rex Madewell, Tommy Harding, Tom Madewell, Roy & Lucille Webb, John Frank & Hildred Madewell, Earl & Vivian Smith; nephews, Sherman Smith & Joe Harding; niece, Mallory Lee and great nephew, Clay Clark.
Visitation was Thursday, November 20, 2025, with the funeral following, both at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home, with Jamey James officiating.
Interment was at Jasper Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Allen Chambers, Alex Wyatt, Landon Chambers, Roger Hood, Clay Chambers and Tim Roberson.
Honorary Pallbearers were Scott Russell, Dr Tom Langston & staff and the staff at Countryside Assisted Living in Harrison, AR.

I am so sad to hear of Kathy’s passing. She was such a sweet, kind lady. I enjoyed visiting with her at Countryside while my Mom was there. Prayers going up for all of her family.

So sorry, worked with Kathy at Levis. She was a hoot.

So sad to learn of the lost of your Mom. Sandra, Kelly and families, you are all in my prayers for comfort and piece. A nice lady. She was a good friend and we kept in touch for 53 years after I moved away.

It was an honor to take care of Mrs. Kathy at Countryside. We all loved her dearly. So sorry for the family’s loss. She will be missed dearly.

I knew Kathy and Cobb since school days knew her parents and family grew up in the Erbie community. They were all good neighbors and friends. I am so sorry for your loss and pray our Lord comforts and uphold you.
