of Conway, AR
November 19, 1943 - November 5, 2025
Rani N. Kawalsingh, 81, of Conway, AR passed away peacefully in her home on November 5, 2025. She was born on November 19, 1943 in Trinidad to Ganesh and Flora (Mohan) Kawalsingh. She had many careers throughout her lifetime, but the most notable was her 20+ tenure at Conway Human Development Center.
Rani was passionate about her Trinidadian heritage. Family was often invited over to enjoy stewed beef, dahl, roti and doubles. For many Thanksgivings, she would make so much food that we would be asking the neighbors and other friends to come over to share in the occasion. She hardly ever got told ''No''. Her cooking skills were legendary among those who knew her.
Everywhere she went she captivated the room with her detailed and often hilarious stories of her many adventures. Many of these stories started with the phrase, ''Oh Girl, I can party!'' Whenever we heard that, we knew to strap in because we were about to be in for a roller coaster of a tale ending with everyone being instructed on how to make Rum Punch properly.
There is no doubt that Rani's favorite place in Arkansas was Hot Springs. Every time she talked about going to the city her eyes would light up. Many of her most treasured objects are the crystals she collected from the shops with every crystal having its own story.
She was generous in her love for her grandchildren. Often, making sure her pantry was stocked with all their favorite snacks. Rani could always be counted on to have popsicles in the freezer for them with extra to take home for later. They will always remember the declarations of love by the sing-song ''Grandma loves you'' when Rani was close by.
She is preceded in death by her parents; beloved brother, Anthony Chanicka and dear Aunt, Eastlyn Bynoe also known as Auntie Doll.
She is survived by her brother, Paul Chanicka; sister, Elizabeth Reba; son, Rajesh (Brittany) Rampersad; daughter, Natasha (John) Moore; grandchildren, Sierra Fink, Anjali Rampersad, Ian Winfrey, Adeline Winfrey and Aadya Rampersad and cherished friends and family members Yasmin Rodriguez, Lloyd (Kim) Singh and Sandra Raveendran.
A memorial service will be held at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home Conway on November 11, 2025 at 10:00am. Flowers are welcome as she took great pride in growing and maintaining her own garden.

Robin and I extended our deepest condolence to you and your family.

So terribly sorry for your loss Raj. May she rest in eternal peace.

Natasha, John and family
My heartfelt condolences for your loss.
Keep warm and happy memories of her close to your heart.

I first met Rani in July 1979 and she among others met me at the JFK airport. Since that day I considered her a friend. at that time she lived with her first husband Ralph and her daughter Natasha (Nandi) in Brooklyn NY. I frequently visited Rani and her family. Then a few years later Rani moved to Florida. Last I heard she had then moved to Arkansas to join her younger brother.
May her soul rest in peace

What a beautiful and moving tribute to your mother Raj. She was truly a beautiful soul inside and out to have raised such a good son that grew to be a good man. I am so terribly sorry for your loss. I never had the privilege of meeting her but I always heard such wonderful things about her.

Mom i love you.
