It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James Franklin McPherson, who, at the age of 60, departed from his earthly home on Thursday, October 23, 2025 at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock, AR. Born on April 4, 1965 in Conway, AR, James was the beloved son of the late Clement Franklin McPherson and Martha Aretha McPherson-Jenkins.
James was truly one of a kind, a man whose presence illuminated every room he entered. His infectious joy and laughter were a gift to all who knew him, especially through his famously witty jokes that could bring a smile to anyone's face. He possessed a profound love for the great outdoors, finding immense peace and excitement in nature's embrace. His passion for fishing, hunting and camping was not only a personal delight but also an inspiration to many, as he shared his adventurous spirit with friends and family. Above all else, James cherished the time spent with his grandchildren, finding his greatest happiness in their laughter and love.
James was preceded in death by his loving parents, Clement McPherson and Aretha McPherson-Jenkins and his cherished grandchildren, Emmette and Amelia, whose memories he held dear. He leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter, carried on by his devoted siblings, Jessie (Greg) Jenkins, Floyd McPherson, Janet Armentrout, Michele Park and Julia (Stan) Willadson. His memory will be forever treasured by his children, Frankie (Monica) McPherson, Jamie McPherson, Tiffany (Matt) Warden and Destiny (Tori) Jackson. James was also a beloved grandfather to Hope, Brodin, Henry, Joseph, Levi, Clement and River, who will miss his playful spirit and unwavering affection. He is also survived by a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, all of whom were touched by his extraordinary life. James Franklin McPherson will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him, but his spirit will live on in the countless memories he created and the love he so freely gave.
