Edward Eugene ''Gene'' Hale, Jr., age 72, of West Memphis, Arkansas, passed away peacefully at his home on October 16, 2025.
Gene was born on January 21, 1954, in Wynne, Arkansas, to Edward Eugene Hale and Betty Goodwin Hale. He worked as a long-haul truck driver for Consolidated Freight beginning in December 1984 and was a proud member of the Teamsters Union. Gene was known for his strong work ethic, his quiet humor, and his kind heart.
He is survived by his daughter, Brooke Nicole; his son, Wesley Wayne Hale (Becky); three sisters, Debra Hale, Rebecca Eaves, and Sarah Densmore, all of West Memphis; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Connie, Patricia, and Cynthia; two brothers, Ronald and David; and a niece, Christina Salani.
Gene was of the Pentecostal faith and will be remembered for his love of family, his devotion to his work, and the warmth he shared with everyone who knew him. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

I love and miss you big BRO. I LOVED TAKING CARE OF YOU, LETTING YOU EAT MY MAX&CHEESE WITH MASH POTATOES. Beckys special . Thanksgiving and chrismas dinners will never be the same. You finally got your wish. Two new legs walking around in heaven with a lot of family. Love you. ❤️

I love you daddy. I miss you so very much more than any words could ever describe. You was the best dad ever and my very best friend. I know you are not hurting no more and that you are walking with Uncle David right now. My heart is broken but I know I have the best Angel (you dad) watching over me. This is the hardest thing I will ever have to deal with and will be for the rest of my life. But you was the most amazing father anyone could be blessed to have. I love and miss you, bye, be careful!

Gene and I meet and worked together at Consolidated Freightways. We were good friends. Prayers for all family and friends . Gene will be missed. Rest in peace Gene Hale . I know you are now pain free and enjoying your visit with your mom and dad and brothers and sisters.

Oh how I loved my Uncle Gene. We could sit and talk for hours. Im sure gonna miss texting him randomly just to check on him. Rest high upon that mountain Uncle Gene. Love and miss you infinity till we meet again.

Gene as we called him, My brother was the most kindest soul & unfortunately was the victim of a drive by shooting 29yrs ago leaving him a paraplegic. He loved his Mother, Betty Jayne Hale Perkins , Dad, Edward Eugene Hale, Sr,; his only brother, David Paul Hale,; His sisters, Connie Joyce Harper, Patricia Gay Gillette; Cynthia Lou Harper; & his niece Christina Lee Salemi, That all had gained their Angel Wings before my brother Gene gained his. After being a paraplegic, he became an amputee due to diabetes.
He is survived by his daughter, whom he loved so much, Brook Nicole Rodriguez, West Memphis , her children, his granddaughters, Angel Rodriguez, Kaufman Texas; Christina Nicole Rodriguez, Arlington, Tn; Amaya Rodriguez, Kaufman. Texas; &. their Dad, Fernando Rodriguez, Kaufman, Texas! & his granddaughter Faith Cooksey , Truman, Arkansas. He loved his grandchildren all girls, so much.
Gene also leaves his 3 sisters, .Debra Hale, West Memphis, Rebecca Eaves, West Memphis, & Sarah Densmore, West Memphis. They all had the Honor of being his caretaker’s, at different times.
He also leaves behind 5 nephews; Danny Myers; Billy Covington, Jr.; David Covington, Ty Goodman, T.J. Harper; & Dustin Densmore. They loved their Uncle Gene, & he lovedi them.
He leaves behind his nieces Tammy Myers, Tisha Tasha Gillette, Kelly & Melissa Eaves, Ashley Salas, & Lilah HaleThey loved their Uncle Gene & he loved them.
Gene had 8 great nephews, & 8 great nieces, & 1 great greats well as a lot of friends. niece.!
Also a lot of cousins that will miss him dearly. & friends!
Gene loved to ride his Harley Davidson & took many of his nieces & nephews on their first Harley ride, they will never forget.
He leaves behind 1 stepson Wesley Wilson, (Becky). & their 3 sons, & 1 granddaughter that referred to Gene as “Papaw!”
Bro’ I will miss you so much & even tho we prayed you would be able to walk again; we know now you have 2 new legs running on streets of gold with all of our family in Heaven! No more heartaches, no more pain, all is at peace forever more… we can’t wait to meet you in Heaven. That is the only peace of our broken hearts that give us comfort!
There has not been a Memorial date as of yet !
