of Little Rock, AR
April 21, 1933 - October 7, 2025
Bonnie Jo George of Little Rock, Arkansas, 92 years old, completed her earthly journey on Tuesday, October 7, 2025. She is pre-deceased by husband, Albert George, her parents, William H. and Lena Cloin, and siblings, Betty and John Dallas. She is survived by a sister, Mary Lett, Sherwood; daughters, Deborah White (Gary), Sherwood, Donna Cook (Robert), Yukon, OK, Denise Rhodes, Little Rock, her grandchildren, Miranda Jane, Jaime Cook, Jared Cook, Madison Rhodes, seven great-grandchildren, and Albert's children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, plus nieces and nephews, along with extended family in Missouri and many friends.
Bonnie was born April 21, 1933 on a farm near Sikeston, Missouri, where she spent her young years until the family moved into the city. She moved to Little Rock in 1956 and spent her children's school years as a stay-at-home mother. She held a variety of jobs, including store clerk in her teen years, Sikeston Chamber of Commerce and Brown Shoe Factory. In Little Rock, she began her office career serving as Office Manager of Albert George, Mfg. and running her own picture framing business adjacent to the office.
Her walk with Jesus began at Garden Homes Baptist Church, and continued as a member of Reynolds Memorial Baptist Church until her passing. She was a member of the WMU, church bookkeeper for many years, and served on many committees.
She referred to herself as a ''piddler'' but Bonnie had a very creative and clever mind. An accomplished seamstress, she sewed clothing for herself and her girls and grand-girls for many years. She won Best in Show at the Arkansas State Fair for a 3-piece bassinet ensemble of quilt, bedskirt, and inside padding. She made many quilts and loved getting together with the quilting ladies at church every week. She liked to do watercolors, all types of projects with the grands, flower gardening, furniture restoring, and decorating. She always preferred to ride the lawnmower rather than work in the house. Bonnie loved learning, was an avid reader and watcher of 'Jeopardy' from its beginning, and always ready to play Scrabble, Trivial Pursuit or Password. She once stunned her children by knowing whose face was on the $10,000 bill. Working on jigsaw puzzles was a favorite pastime.
Traveling was in her blood; she would say, ''my feet are itchy'' which meant a trip wasn't far away. She had a goal of seeing all 50 states, and only missed one. Always ready to go, Bonnie had the opportunity to travel both here and abroad - making several cruises to the Caribbean and Alaska, and trips to Ireland and Scotland.
Hostessing various parties for her family and church friends brought her delight and joy. Christmas and summer pool parties brought out her best self. The isolation of COVID and effects of Alzheimer's stole a significant part of all the things that made up the best version of Bonnie. It made the end of her life hard.
The family extends their thanks to the staff of Fox Ridge NLR Memory Care, Sharp Care Services, and Gentiva Hospice for the excellent care they have given Bonnie and her family.
A visitation will begin at 11:30am on Thursday, October 16, 2025, with services beginning at 12:30pm at Roller-Drummond Funeral Home, 10900 I-30, Little Rock, Arkansas. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association-Arkansas Chapter or Reynolds Memorial Baptist Church, 7111 Fourche Dam Pike, LR 72206.
I am so sorry for this huge loss. I know where your creativity comes from now. I bet she was a busy lady. She can visit all 50 States now, anytime she wants. I know you have a huge hole in your heart that can never be filled. Hugs
To Deb, and your family—
Please know I am praying for God’s peace and comfort to “hug” all of you as you continue to go through your Mother’s earthly transition.
She surely showed her love for you until she was no longer able; may her beautiful memories also give you comfort.
