Laura Deann Coleman

of West Memphis, AR

May 16, 1980 - October 4, 2025

Laura Deann Coleman passed away peacefully on October 4, 2025 at 12:21 p.m. at the age of 45.

Born in Memphis, Tennessee and a lifelong resident of Marion and West Memphis, Arkansas, Laura was preceded in death by her loving parents, J.R. and Betty Coleman; her grandparents, Jessie and Juanita Barber and Rae and Marguerite Coleman and many of her beloved fur babies.

She is survived by her sister, Sarah (Tony) of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; her partner of eleven years, Josh Hutcherson of Marion; her two nieces, Micah Cupples of Conway, Arkansas and Madelyn Cupples of Starkville, Mississippi; her horses, Dixie and Scratch and her cherished rescue cats.

Laura had a heart of gold and a deep love for all of God's creatures. She would stop traffic to rescue a turtle, and every stray kitten somehow knew her home was a safe haven. During a winter snowstorm, she once took in a litter of orphaned kittens whose mother had passed away. An act that perfectly captured her gentle, compassionate spirit. Her animals were truly her family and her horses, Dixie and Scratch, along with her rescue cats, will forever be a part of her story.

Laura lived her life quietly, privately and with tremendous heart. In keeping with her wishes and the humble way she lived, there will be no formal service. In remembrance of Laura, please consider donating to your local animal rescue or shelter in her honor.

The family would like to express heartfelt thanks to McKenzie at Baptist Crittenden ER and Rachel at St. Francis ICU for their exceptional and compassionate care of Laura.

No words can ease your heartache or fill the void. They say time heals all. I think it is more so that over time, we still feel the loss, and the pain, but as time goes on, we learn how to get through our days without the ones who left before us.

My heart goes out to you, Sarah & family. And my heart aches for Laura and a life taken too soon.

May memories bring a smile to your lips and peace to your hearts. Love & hugs

Laura was a good friend and coworker at the 911 center. She was upbeat and never met a stranger. I remember her bright smile and the talks we had about her fur babies. She will be missed by all who.knew her.

It was a pleasure meeting you years ago at the hockey games. You were like part of the staff you were there so much. It was always nice to talk with you once in awhile and catch up. You were always so nice and we always had the love of all animals. Well not snakes , for me, but still. RIP my friend. Your troubles here on earth are done.

Laura was an awesome special person that I loved dearly. I remember her telling me about stopping traffic on a highway to move turtles out of the road.
She was one tough lady with a heart of Gold.

Sarah I hope God brings you and everyone else that loved her peace and comfort.
