Inez Emma Cumbie, 96, went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 3, 2025. She was born on May 26, 1929 in Cove, Arkansas to the late Uelies Berry Bain and Louise Walker. She is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Harold E Cumbie; four brothers, George Bain, Ed Bain, Dale Bain and Joe Bain and one sister, Margaret Aylett.
Inez is survived by a sister, Ramona Elrod; daughter, Janice Loyd (Robert); two sons, Don (Karen) Cumbie, Dennis (Kim), Cumbie; Grandchildren, Lara Davis (James) Buck Whittle, Blake Whittle (Laura), Glen Loyd (Brittany) and Amanda Andres (Jon) and also ten great-grandchildren.
She graduated from Nashville High School class of 1947 where she played half court basketball. When she graduated, she went to work at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, where she was an operator. Then she met the love of her life Harold Cumbie and were married in Hot Springs in 1954. They had three children. In 1967 Harold was killed in action in the Vietnam War and she never remarried. She moved her family to Benton in 1968 where she raised her family and lived until 2024. In 2024 she moved to an assisted living complex at The Manor where she passed peacefully October 3, 2025.
She loved her family, was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She also enjoyed quilting and trips to Branson and was an active member at Spring Creek Missionary Baptist Church.
The family wishes to say heartfelt thanks to Hospice Home Care and all the staff at The Manor for taking such excellent care of our mom, grandmother, great grandmother and sister.
Visitation will be Tuesday, October 7, 2027 from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. and Funeral Services will be at 10:00 A.M at Roller Alcoa Chapel with Dr. Terry Parrish officiating.

Dear Janice, Don and Dennis,
So very sorry to hear about your mother passing! I was always so fond of her and her wonderful sense of humor and grace!! My mom is 97 now and still kicking so I loved comparing our amazing mother’s strength and dedication to their family!!
