James ''Troy'' Thomas, 78, of Osceola passed away on Friday, September 26, 2025 surrounded by family. He was born in Blue Mountain, Mississippi on November 8, 1946 to William and Edna Thomas. Troy loved to hunt, fish, garden and host family barbecues and other gatherings. Deer season was his favorite time of year.
Troy is survived by his grandson, Matt (Whitney) Driver; great-grandchildren, Ian, Scarlett and Lucas Driver; brothers, Arlan (Erma) Thomas, Jimmy Thomas; special niece, Rita ''Katie'' Tomaszewicz; son-in-law, Jimbo Kennemore and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Addie Mae Thomas; daughter, Tammy Gail Kennemore; sisters, Bobbie Jo Franklin, Betty Parnell, Carolyn Thomas and sister-in-law, Beverly Thomas. The funeral service will be Monday, September 29, 2025 at 2:00 pm. Interment will be at Mississippi County Memorial Gardens.
