October 18, 1943 - September 24, 2025

Robert Shyler Bradberry, 81, of Searcy died peacefully in his home on Wednesday, September 24, 2025. He was born on October 18, 1943 in Center Hill, Arkansas to the late CL 'Bunt' and Lucille Brumlow Bradberry.

Shyler grew up in Center Hill and went to school in Searcy where he participated in all sports. When he was in the 8th grade, his family moved to Batesville. After being selected an Arkansas High School All Star at Batesville High School, Shyler earned a football scholarship to Arkansas State Teachers College (now UCA). It was there he met his future wife Phyllis Lemke.

After graduation, Shyler coached and taught social studies in Clarendon, AR for one year. He was a Vietnam Veteran who served in the US Army from 1968-1970. He was honorably discharged as a First Lieutenant and earned several medals of commendation.

Shyler and Phyllis were married on October 16, 1968. They lived in Forrest City for a few years before moving back to the farm in Center Hill with two little girls.

Shyler was a soil technician for the United States Department of Agriculture in Searcy for 21 years. He raised cattle and taught his girls to appreciate farm life even after moving to town. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and watching sports on tv.

Shyler is survived by his wife of almost 57 years, his daughters Brittney Patty and husband Brad of Maumelle, Brandy Brown of Conway, his grandsons, Justin Patty, Jaxon Brown, and Carson Patty, his brother Bill Bradberry of Little Rock, two nephews and hunting buddies Rob (Victoria) and Gabe Lemke of Forrest City and many first cousins.

The family would like to thank Izzy from Arkansas Hospice for her care, compassion, and patience over the past weeks.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, October 7 at 1 pm at White County Memorial Gardens in Searcy, AR.

I am saddened to hear this. Skyler and I were in HS together, then college when he introduced me to my first husband, a blind date. Many good times. My thoughts are with all the family …

Brandy and Brittany
Please know you and the grandsons are in my heart and prayers. You’ve done a fine job of caring for your parents in recent months. They were very proud of you both.
