of Batesville, AR

August 8, 1933 - September 20, 2025

Lorene O'Daniel was sent to her eternal home on September 20, 2025. She was born in Warrick County, Indiana on August 8, 1933.

Lorene was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Ethel Gwaltney; a brother, Walter Gwaltney; and her beloved husband, Lones O'Daniel.

Lorene is survived by her sister, Lois Freedman (Marc); daughter, Sherry Page (Rich); son, Phillip O'Daniel; daughter, Shirlene O'Daniel; granddaughters, Jessica Harris (Trey) and Jennifer Russell. She is also survived by great grandchildren, Grainger Harris, Gracelynn Harris, Fletcher Harris, Addison Russell, and Carson Jones; nieces, Maura Nora (Ryan), Kara Freedman, and Stacey Johnson; and nephew, Brian Gwaltney.

Lorene was a beloved member of First Baptist Church of Batesville where she served in the nursery for over 25 years caring for many children during that time. She was devoted to her faith in Christ and could be found reading her Bible daily or listening to a service on the radio. She enjoyed needle point and sewing clothing for her family members. In her later years, Lorene enjoyed attending water aerobics with a group she affectionately called the ''water babies.'' She was a loving and patient woman that will be missed greatly.

Pallbearers are Trey Harris, Grainger Harris, Bill Lindeman, Russell Moore, Robbie Cox, and Lance Wehrung.

Visitation will be held at Roller-Crouch Funeral Home Friday, September 26, 2025 from 6-8pm. Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church, Saturday, September 27, 2025 at 11am. Graveside services to immediately follow at Oaklawn Cemetery.

Sherry, Shirlene, and Phillip, Your sweet mom was always a joy to be around. As a snot-nosed little kid at First Baptist, I could always count on Lorene to make me feel safe and cared for. That is such a wonderful legacy in our world today. Our prayers and hearts are with you all.
