of Conway, AR
September 2, 1953 - September 20, 2025
Paul David Palmer, aged 72, lovingly known as David and Cub to his close friends, passed away on September 20, 2025. Born on September 02, 1953 in Conway, Arkansas to the late Dib (D.W.) Palmer and Billye Hiland Palmer, David was a man of wisdom, work ethic and unwavering support.
David was born in Conway, but he was raised in North Little Rock. He attended North Little Rock High School where he played baseball. After high school, he received a full scholarship while he received his education at Ole Miss University. Throughout his career and life, he had many accomplishments on the baseball field and at work, but his greatest accomplishment was being ''Papaw'' to his four grandchildren.
David was a hardworking man who built a career at AT&T, formerly Southwestern Bell Phone Company. Starting as an administrative assistant in 1976, David worked his way to Financial Manager where he happily retired after 35 years.
David was a dedicated husband to Lynda Palmer, his loving wife of 25 years and a devoted father to Tara, Casey, Michael and Kurt. He was a proud Papaw to four grandchildren, Eva, Norah, Zack, Noelle and a loving brother to Philip Palmer and to the late Steve Palmer.
David's passing was sudden and unexpected, but quick, just like he always hoped it would be. He will be remembered for his heart for dogs and his unyielding support for his family and friends. His legacy will forever be etched in our hearts.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of David will be held at Roller McNutt Funeral Home, Conway, Arkansas, 72032 on Monday 29th of September 2025 at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Faulkner County Humane Society as a tribute to his memory. Thank you for your presence and support during this difficult time.
Worked with David and Linda at Southwestern Bell and just learned about David. Heartfelt condolences and fond memories. Mike Norman
I just learned of David's passing. I went to NLRHS and played league baseball with David and for a time was a battery mate. I remember him as a very good pitcher and that his passion for the sport would take him far. At our HS reunions I always looked him up to spend a few moments reminiscing about baseball. I think he enjoyed it and always indulged me. Most importantly, what I remember about David is he was a kind soul. Rest in Peace David.
Met David when we were having telephone meetings in Little Rock or Hot Springs. He Never met a stranger. He will be Missed, Our thoughts are with his family.
So sorry to learn of David’s passing. He was a great friend in high school who was such fun to be with. He had a great sense of humor and a wonderful laugh.
My condolences to his family.
David, I’m gonna miss you but I know you are at peace. We spent 5 wonderful years working together at Pine Bluff and then many trips with Robert and Butler fishing and having a wonderful time. I claim you as one of my best friends, God bless you Lynda and all the children. rags
Worked with David in Conway and became good friends because of it. Linda, Cathy and I will keep you in our prayers.
David was such a friendly and loving person. He always made us feel like family, not just in-laws, and we knew he meant it when saying, "come back soon." While visiting, we felt at home with him and Lynda. He will be missed greatly. Our deepest condolences.
I first met David in 2001 in San Antonio, Texas. We both were in a small group of finance managers working for AT&T. We developed a very special friendship that was filled with laughter and joy. He loved taking road trips to San Antonio. His first stop upon entering the state of Texas was always Whataburger. On all his visits to San Antonio, we would go to Rosarios so he could get his fill of salsa and chips, take a day trip to Lulling for his favorite barbeque, and literally go every day to the Original Donut Shop and have his favorite donuts and coffee for breakfast. Oh, so many fond memories too many to share. David was such a special person to me and my family. We will miss you, my friend. Rest in peace. You will forever be in our thoughts and prayers. My deepest condolences to his wife Lynda, his children Casey, Tara, Mike, and Kurt.
I was fortunate to be able to count David as a friend since we were 9 years old.
He was smart, funny and a great athlete.
His sense of humor and mischievous grin always kept people wondering what he would do next - or what he had already done!
The years that we shared playing on teams sponsored by Huggins Drug and Arkmo Lumber were special, too. He definitely made our teams better.
I know that he will be missed greatly by his family and hope that they will find peace and comfort through the years of good memories.
We are praying for all of the family. I am so sorry for your loss.
Rest is peace David.. … prayers for is family
To all of David's family that he so dearly loved, I am saddened for your loss. My prayers go up in your behalf for you to somehow find peace and comfort from the Lord above. Just please be proud of knowing that David was just the salt of the earth type guy. I played baseball with him when we were in that phase of our lives. He was a great pitcher and I was one of the lucky catchers that enjoyed catching some games for him and watching his pitching intelligence and his command of the variety of pitches he could throw. He was a great pitcher but was even a better person. I was shocked and so upset when I heard of David's passing away. He will be greatly missed but will always be remembered by me. Rest in peace my friend
Wishing you peace to bring you comfort, courage to face the days ahead, and loving memories to forever hold in your heart. We are so very sorry for your loss. Prayers and hugs.

I met David shortly after moving to NLR right across the street from the Palmers. He was a good friend and one heck of a baseball player. RIP My Friend and God Bless your family.
Im sorry to hear about the sudden passing of David from this earth, but am happy to know that he’s home with the Lord. What a wonderful person he was when we were in high school together. I’ll never forget him or his smiling face.
Hello to you, Phil. My condolences to you as well. I’d love to know how you’re doing.
David was so very kind to my Auntie, Lamoine Bass. I am so very sorry to hear of his passing and I hope your family has a gentle time.

I have fond memories of your dad at SWB and later at AT&T. We retired at the same time.
When I think about your dad, I think about his addiction to crappie fishing walking on boards laid out on logs in Lake Conway in the dead of winter. I thought he was nuts.
Sadly we lost touch since we retired. He loved you guys so much!
Please accept our deepest sympathy and heartfelt thoughts. Our hearts go out to Linda and the family. May memories be a source of comfort at this time. Our prayers are with you.
My heartfelt condolences to his dear wife and entire family I was lucky to have played baseball with David as a teenager at Burns Park in NLR and riding around in David’s corvette !! We had many bbq’s at Jo Jo’s BBQ in Levy and talked about and solved the world’s troubles every time ! RIP my friend
My sincerest condolences to the family! Keeping you all lifting in prayer!

David was a wonderful neighbor! Always looking out for folks. He would mow our other neighbors lawn, just to help her out. Such a friendly and fun loving soul. We’ll miss seeing him when we are out for walks in the neighborhood.
