Virginia Gray

November 27, 1946 - September 21, 2025

Virginia Lee Gray was born in North Little Rock, Arkansas on November 27, 1946 to Lonnie and Burnes Pratt Causey.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Dean Gray and her brother, Billy Causey.

While roller skating with her sister and brother-in-law, she met the love of her life of 35 years, Thomas Gray. They had met at the same place a few years prior and she remembered he had been such a gentleman to her. They were married July 29, 1977.

She worked as a claims adjuster for Rebsamen Insurance in Little Rock, Arkansas for 11 years until it became Crockett Adjustment, later known as Central Adjustment Company headed by David McCullough. After her retirement, she was a hostess at Chick Fil A for 5 years. She loved greeting customers with a polite smile and ''It's my pleasure.''

Virginia attended North Little Rock Church of Christ for many years and had been a member at Downtown Church of Christ in Morrilton, Arkansas for 7 years. While she was briefly in Virginia, she also attended Glen Allen Church of Christ and had family and good friends at Three Chopt Church of Christ. She was always an active member in the church and loved talking to others about God. She wanted to share her faith with as many people as she could. Virginia was loved by so many and brought a smile to everyone she met; she always had a way of making people feel special, seen and loved.

In her free time, she loved to cross stitch, work on cross word puzzles, watch old fashioned movies, thrift shopping and visit with friends from church and family. She loved to travel as well and take spontaneous trips. One trip that she and her daughter loved to take was to Hot Springs, Arkansas.

Her greatest joy was when she became a grandmother. When she lived in Virginia, she thoroughly enjoyed the time spent with her grandson, Daniel. She was always active and loved playing games with him. He enjoyed playing 'protect the fort' with her and watching old Disney movies while snacking on the couch with her.

Virginia is survived by her daughter, Berni Demetra Kuzemchak, her husband, Aaron and beloved grandson, Daniel; her sister, Diane Tudor, her husband, Charlie; her sister, Nancy Byars; her sister, Jenell Simerley, her husband, Dow; her brother, Jim Causey, his wife, Ella; her brother-in-law, Clarence Douglas Gray, his wife, Leta; her brother-in-law, James Gray; her dear cousin, Mary Jane Jones, her husband, Ed and many beloved and cherished nieces, nephews and friends.

There will be a visitation at the Downtown Church of Christ in Morrilton, Arkansas on Thursday, September 25, 2025 at 10:30am, followed by funeral services at 11:00am.

My dear sweet sister in Christ, thank you for all the times you spent answering my questions about the Bible. Your kindness and forgiveness towards others was a beautiful example of how God wants us to be. We had a lot of good times together. I miss you so much. I love you.

Virginia was a very precious person. I didn't know her that well but the times that i was around her she was always a delight with a beautiful smile.
I got to meet her through her cousin Mary Jane. I know she will be missed by all that had the opportunity to meet her. To her daughter, sisters, brother, Mary Jane, and friends my heart goes out to you. May God give you comfort and peace.
