October 5, 1947 - September 17, 2025
Linda Dianne (Gilbert) Horton, 77, of Ward, Arkansas passed from this life on September 17, 2025 in North Little Rock, Arkansas. She was born October 05, 1947 to Olen and Dorothy (Patrick) Gilbert in Los Angeles, California.
Linda was of the Pentecostal faith and was active in the Cocklebur Baptist Church in Ward, Arkansas. She excelled in a wide range of areas: Linda was a dairy farmer who helped earn Farm Family of the Year for the Horton Dairy Farm and she was a gifted teacher to preschool children at Head Start. She launched and ran a classic car restoration business known as "J&L Chevy". Linda was an avid collector, with a special talent for buying and selling antiques.
Her adventurous and kind spirit was contagious to all who knew her. She was devoted to her family and friends and was a hard worker. Linda was an accomplished artist. She enjoyed creating things whether it was painting, sewing or crafting and she loved to help others explore their creative abilities.
Linda loved her animals and she recognized the beauty of God's creations and took time to appreciate the simple things such as the complexity of a flower, the shapes created by the clouds in the sky and she was always eager to help an animal in need. Linda was also passionate about children's ministry and was dedicated to helping children feel special and loved. She taught Sunday School, collected supplies for those in need, hosted church tea parties and regularly dressed up in characters to delight the kids at her church.
Linda's sense of humor and happy disposition led to many adventures throughout her life including mission trips to Mexico, winning a Heavy Equipment Rodeo Competition and taking various prizes in 4X4 Mud racing. She always had a good story to tell and if you took her fishing, she was sure to catch the biggest fish around, including a 36- inch striped bass. Linda was a bright light and knew how to have fun wherever she went. Her love for Faith, Family and Creativity will be greatly missed.
Linda is survived by her high school sweetheart, Jerry Horton of Mountain View; two sons, Deon Horton of Mountain View, Arkansas and Rodney Horton of Austin, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Kaliee (Jake) Robertson, Zachary (Susan) Horton, Hope Horton and RJ (Katie) Horton; three sisters, Faye Farris, Connie Sue Bengerno and Karen Owens; along with a host of loving family and friends.

I will miss Ms. Linda. She was a very dear lady and friend. She was always willing to help out at church wherever the need was. Cocklebur Baptist Church will miss her deeply. She was so giving of her time and was the best decorator at our Christmas parties and other things we would do at church throughout the years. She was a great joy to be around and would be busy doing something, she wouldn't sit still for long. I will miss her, but I know that she is celebrating in heaven with our Lord and Savior. So, for now I will say...... till we meet again dear friend. May God be with her family and friends during this difficult time.

I am so sorry for your loss. I enjoyed knowing Linda when we went to Church together years ago. She was always a delight to visit with. She will not be forgotten.
My prayers are with her family, may you let the Lord comfort you during this time of your bereavement. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🌹🌹🌹

Linda will truly be missed by members of our congregation at Cocklebur Baptist Church. She was active in so many things at the church over the many years thru our mission programs with VBS, WOMS, HarvestFest, our weekly bible study, decorating for tea parties and Christmas dinners. She never hesitated to dress up like an elf for the kids or for tea parties, or anything else involving the church. You could find her at the Beebe Flea market or garage sales on the weekends. Linda was in our senior adult Sunday School class and will be missed by all of us. May God be with her family and friends during the coming months.
