Orvilline Leigh Phillips

of Searcy, AR

June 8, 1942 - September 12, 2025

Orvilline "Leigh" Phillips (Clayton), age 83, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2025 in Searcy, Arkansas. She was born to Quillo and Johnnie Loueva Clayton on June 8, 1942 in Caraway, Arkansas. She was a longtime member of the First Assembly of God Church in Searcy, AR.

Leigh was a true warrior who loved her grandkids, her own kids, her sisters, husband and all her family. with a fierceness and loyalty that is rare in this world. Anyone was lucky to have her on their side and in their corner.

Her grandchildren especially, were the greatest joy of her life and they feel so lucky to have called her their "Mammaw". We will all miss her dearly.

Our mom was also a devoted nurse for over 30 years, much of that time in nursing homes. She brought not only great skill, but an extraordinary empathy to those she cared for, especially the very sick and elderly. She was always fighting for their rights and to ensure they received quality care.

Leigh is survived by her husband, C.A. Phillips of Searcy; her son, Randy Phillips of Searcy; her daughter, Glenda Horsley (Mark) of San Rafael, California; six cherished grandchildren, Scott Phillips, Joshua Phillips, Katie Horsley, Sophie Horsley, Jack Horsley and Allie Horsley and one cherished great grandchild, Harlowe Phillips.

Leigh also was one of six of the Clayton Sisters, whom if all were gathered at the same time, you would not want to miss out on the fun. They were and still are a beautiful crew and were close all their lives. Leigh is survived by sisters, Mary Ann Hodges of Jonesboro; Alice Harrison of Trumann and Deborah Troillett of Benton and preceded in death by sisters, Sherry Lemay and Helen Taylor.

A Graveside Service will be held on September 16, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Marked Tree Cemetery, Hwy 75. A celebration of life will be held at the family home on Saturday, September 20th at 2:00 pm. May the memories of all who knew and loved our mom, bring you much peace, joy and comfort.

Leigh, was so beautiful inside and out, memories of Leigh and CA fighting for two unborn granddaughters, an our prayers of agreement were answered. There was a time of sharing
a mission trip to work. I will not forget the love between CA and Leigh, and getting and emergency
call that an accident brought them back home. Thank you Mrs Leigh for sharing your beautiful family. Sincerely
Phyllis Singleton

While I never met Leigh, I feel I know her so well through CA. What a wonderful lady she was. I wish God's peace on her, CA, and her whole family.
