Jewell Carl Summerville (J.C.)JR, 87, Mabelvale AR, passed away on September 9th,2025 at his home.
J.C. was born in Traskwood, AR to Jewell Carl, SR. and Maxine Summerville on September 20th, 1938. J.C. served in the United States Army for 6 years in the artillery/infantry division. During those 6 years of serving, he fought in the Korean War. After retiring from the Army, J.C. became a truck driver. His CB handle was ''Might Mouse.'' J.C. was a truck driver for over 34 years working for J.B. Hunt and Coleman Dairy. He retired from Coleman Dairy after 24 years and then retired from J.B. Hunt after 10 years. J. C's pride and joy was his wife, Ann, of 54 years. When Ann was not working, she would travel with J.C.
J.C. is survived by his wife, Ann Summerville, of 54 years, his brothers, Robert Summerville(Phyllis) of Yucaipa, California, Roy Summerville(Lucy) of Arizona, Normal Russell of Anchorage, Alaska, Fred Summerville of Las Vegas, NV and a sister, Janis Wegener of Phoenix, AR; children-Joni Dorsey of Little Rock, AR; Julie Brown(Kenny) of Berryville, AR; Betty Anderson(Tom) of La Grande, OR; Dana Taylor of Clinton, AR; Shelly Hoyt of Little Rock, AR, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
J.C. is preceded in death by his father and mother, Jewell Carl Summerville, SR. and Maxine Summerville; sister, Nancy Stroman of Yucaipa, California and 2 brothers, Wayne Summerville of Lonoke, AR and Curtis Summerville.
A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, September 15th at Salem Cemetery in East End, AR at 3:00 with the visitation being from 1:00PM until 2:00PM at the Roller-Alcoa Funeral Home in Benton, AR.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking memorial donations to be made to the East End Cemetery, Arkansas Children's Hospital, St. Jude's Hospital or Wounded Warriors.
