Mark Wayne Stephens, 68, of Conway died September 10, 2025.
He was born in Carlisle on December 20, 1956 to Bill and Geneva Stephens and moved to Conway as a child. He graduated from Conway High School in 1975 and attended the University of Central Arkansas. He became a Conway firefighter and later owned Club Cars of Arkansas, a golf cart dealership. He later founded a screen-printing business, AdGraphics and worked at what was then the Office of Emergency Services in Conway before eventually making his way back to UCA, from which he retired in 2020.
At a young age, he started playing golf with his father and they and his two sisters loved the game. Besides golf, his other hobbies included drone photography and guitar.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, Henry and Gertrude White and Earl and Edna Stephens. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Lisa Freeman Stephens; his daughters, Rebecca Tuite (Jeff) of Manahawkin, N.J., Kristen Baldwin (Tommy) of Goodyear, AZ and Kelli Vasquez (Christopher) of Conway; his grandchildren, Joey and Rosalie Baldwin, Annika Ngo and Jordan Tuite and Calvin and Vada Vasquez; his sisters, Sonya Stephens and Stephanie Stephens of Conway; stepchildren, Brooks Freeman and Jill Freeman Walden; two uncles and aunts, a number of cousins and several special golf buddies.
A visitation will be at 1:00pm, Saturday, September 13, 2025 at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway with a memorial service to follow at 2:00pm.

I am so sorry to hear of Mark’s passing. He was a staple at the round table at Centennial Valley Country Club. He always welcomed Wade and I when we joined 20+ years ago and when we had children he would buy them ice cream every time we came to the club, no matter how young they were and always without asking permission! I met Mark at the round table at Centennial. He would have his head down engrossed in his phone, while at the same time keeping up with all of the various conversations going on, expressing himself with occasional chuckles or terse input. He became my exclusive tech support with all things regarding my 'smarter than me phone'. Our friendship was solidified one day when a server came to the table. She had had her eyebrows tattooed on, albeit with much exaggeration. I muttered 'Uncle Leo' as she left the table and Mark's reaction told it all; that was our common denominator. We became a clique of two with our love of all things Seinfeld. It was an outlet for our sometimes warped sense of humor.
When I met Lisa and visited for a while it was clear to me that she was the Yin to his Yang. You don't sense that very often, but with them it was clear.
My prayers are with his family during this difficult time. Mark will be missed by all who knew him.
