March 22, 1931 - September 2, 2025
Frederick Raymond Alewelt, age 94, of Maumelle, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2025. He was born March 22, 1931, in Springfield, Illinois, a son of Frederick and Marguerite (Walsh) Alewelt. Fred was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 57 years, Joan Marie (Slover) Alewelt.
He was Korean War Navy veteran and later worked as an electrical technician until retiring in 1996. Even in retirement Fred and wife, Joni, kept busy building and maintaining their retirement home. Most afternoons, you would find Fred working in his yard on his latest project.
Fred is survived by two sons, Doug Alewelt of Woodstock, Georgia and Brian Alewelt (Katrina) of Maumelle; grand-children Ashley (Travis) McGill and Allison (Jackson) Cole all of Maumelle; and three great grand-children Jacob and Nathan McGill and Jack Henry Cole.
There will be a rosary recitation from 5:00pm-5:20pm followed by visitation until 7:00pm on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at Roller Chenal funeral home. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, September 8, 2025, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. Burial will follow in Riverwood Memorial Gardens.
We are so sorry to hear of Fred’s passing. I always marveled at how hard he worked, taking on projects that many younger than he, would not think of starting! We have been neighbors for 15 years. I always enjoyed my little chats with Fred. I have fond memories of Joan as well. My deepest condolences to his family. Fred will be missed here in our neighborhood,
Dianne Elliott and Roland Robinson

Our neighborhood is not going to feel the same with Fred gone! Fred was an interesting man who was a hard worker tending to his yard. Ron and I both enjoyed our visits with him after finishing up our walks with our dog. We will miss him but glad that is now reunited with his dear wife who he sorely missed!
RIP Fred
