of Bryant, AR
April 3, 1961 - August 31, 2025
Michael Richard Cowling, 64, of Bryant, Arkansas passed away on August 31, 2025. Known affectionately to his childhood friends as "Sally", Mike lived a life with adventure, laughter and love.
From a young age, Mike fostered a deep appreciation for the outdoors. In his younger years, he could often be found playing sports or riding dirt bikes with friends. An excellent skier, he even mastered barefoot skiing and spent countless hours in and around the water. As an adult, he developed a passion for fishing, competing in numerous bass tournaments across Arkansas. He also enjoyed rounds of disc golf with his buddies and driving his beloved 280Z.
Mike began his career with Texas Instruments and went on to work in the dental industry, ultimately retiring from Patterson Dental. He always had a natural ability to reinvent himself and trying new things was his ultimate pastime.
He is survived by his father, Harvey L. Cowling, Sr; his daughters, Hannah Cowling and Lindsay Carter; his grandchildren, Maddie and Owen Carter; his nieces, Rose, Scarlett and Lucy Cowling and his nephew, Dylan Cowling.
No public memorial service will be held. For those who wish to honor his memory, the family asks that donations be made to a local Alcoholics Anonymous Chapter.
Harvey, memories light the corners of my mind.... So long ago, before Larch Road and after, when our families spent so much time together in the neighborhood and at church. Kevin adored Michael and Sam and so did we.
My heart grieves, in the extreme, with You and Your family. I am lifting all of you on High to One who knows what it means to lose a Son.
I was just thinking of you, remembering all the great times we had in that yellow Nova. Man I wish I could have just one more ride with you in that car. Praying for you and yours.
Mike & we’re close friends in High School! We ate lunch everyday together at the Hornet. Knew the whole family , so sorry for your loss. Rest in peace my dear friend.
Harvey and family, I am sincerely sorry to learn about Michael’s passing.
May The Holy Spirit Comfort You.
Sorry to hear of Mike's passing. Hard to believe both he and Sam are both gone. Had lots of good times 50 odd years ago back on Larch.
We really thought a lot of Michael, enjoyed working with him, he kept me laughing a lot. Sorry for your loss.
Uncle Bubba,
I have the fondest memories of you taking us tubing. Not sure I ever told you I was a little scared as you took it to extremes, just like dad did!
Rest in peace now.
Lucy
Wherever you are, I know my dad will be reminding you of the time he convinced you to eat “white chocolate” (bird poop!) off the slide in your back yard. He loved to tell us that story. Glad you’re reunited. Lots of love. ❤️ Scarlett, Sam (Harvey Jr) 3rd daughter
So sorry to the family for your loss.
We are so sorry for your loss.
Rest in peace, Mike, and know that your life and legacy will be ongoing in your beautiful children and grandchildren. We will miss you.
Remembering the happy times with fondness . You sure were a good skier and a great tubing captain Mike . Rest in peace now my friend xxx🌹
He was a lifelong friend of my late husband, Calvin Brown. They grew up together and remained friends. I adore his oldest child, Lindsay and know I’d feel the same for Hannah. His dad, Harvey employed Calvin during our first few months of marriage. Of course his first wife was and is my best bud. All my love to all!
Condolences to his family.
