of Little Rock, AR
May 24, 1944 - September 2, 2025
Vyron Ann Thomas of Little Rock, Arkansas died September 2, 2025 at the age of 81. A one-of-a-kind wife, mother and grandmother, she passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family. Vyron was born on May 24, 1944 in Bragg City, Missouri to Leona Houser. She grew up in Bragg City until her family moved to Leachville, Arkansas so her twin brother could play basketball.
Vyron met Lloyd Thomas through their closest friends, her best girlfriend and his best friend were brother and sister and the two quickly fell in love. They married on February 1, 1964 and made their first home in Fayetteville, Arkansas until his graduation from the University of Arkansas that May. They then moved to Texas City, Texas where they welcomed Mary, their first daughter the following year. After relocating to Blytheville, Arkansas their family grew with the arrival of two more daughters, Jane in 1967 and Anne in 1970. Vyron's greatest joy in life was being a devoted mother to her three girls and in later years, a proud grandmother to five grandsons.
A voracious reader, Vyron would take her girls to the library nearly every week. She especially enjoyed biographies of First Ladies, etiquette books and discovering new recipes and she worked a crossword puzzle almost every day for more than forty years. Completely devoted to her family, Vyron leaves a legacy of Southern hospitality and graciousness. She was known to have a hot, home-cooked meal on the table almost every night of the week.
In 1982 Lloyd's job took the family to London, England. That summer, Vyron transformed a small flat into a home while encouraging her daughters to master the subway and gain confidence navigating a large international city. During her time there, she became a founding member of the Kensington Chelsea Women's Club, an organization of international women with a shared desire to experience everything London had to offer.
Vyron never met a stranger. She was always coming home with sweet stories of visits with someone at Kroger or the bank. She had a rare gift for connecting with people, making them feel valued and special.
Vyron is preceded in death by her oldest grandson, Jack Lewis. She leaves behind a family who cherish her deeply: daughter, Mary Lewis; daughter, Jane Jones (Dave); daughter, Anne Rabjohn (Pat) and four grandsons, Thomas Lewis, Robert Lewis, Patrick Rabjohn and Walker Rabjohn.
Funeral services will be 11:00am Thursday, September 4, 2025 at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10:00am. Burial will follow in Spring Valley Cemetery.
