Dan Brown was born June 11, 1955 in Monticello, Illinois to Eldo and Donna Jean (Strange) Brown. Dan is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Chelsey (Alewine) Brown; his brother, Lonnie Brown (Missouri); his four daughters, Ladonna Brooke Jones (Illinois), Kim (Gabe) Gamez (Texas), Angela (Ruben) Trevino (Texas), Kayla Hurley (Arkansas) and bonus son, Shanen (Angel) Helms (Arizona); his twelve grandchildren, Stanley, Sean A and Syerra, Fernando, Jordan, Gabriel II, Abriana, Kris, Courtney, Cody, Alice, Kaila; ten great-grandchildren and many beloved friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Jennifer.

In 1985, Dan moved from Illinois to Mountain Home, Arkansas. He didn't know it at the time, but Mountain Home would become his true home�"the place where he would fall in love, raise a family, build a career, uncover new hobbies and create lifelong memories with friends and loved ones. His mother and sister, Jennifer, also lived in Mountain Home.

Many people would define Dan as a hard worker. From a young age, he started working to help support his family. In the 1980s, Dan and his brother, Lonnie worked together laying and selling carpet and later started a van customization business. When he moved to Mountain Home, he opened "Lloyd's One-Stop", worked as a wrecker driver, in pawn shops and finally bail bonds. Dan worked with Brad and Jamie Parnell at First Arkansas Bail Bonds for 30 years.

It was through the bail bond industry that Dan met the love of his life, Chelsey. Dan knew Chelsey was ''the one'' the first time she cooked for him. Aside from enjoying her amazing food, Dan and Chelsey enjoyed fishing together, hunting and going on side-by-side excursions in the sand dunes. They traveled throughout Arkansas, Texas and all the way to Arizona, camping and exploring along the way. Dan and Chelsey were true soulmates, sharing the same hobbies, dreams and an undeniable love for each other.

If Dan's first love was his wife, being outside in nature was his second. As a boy, Dan held the Illinois State Champion title for Archery. He also loved to fish. He participated in the Bass Cat Owners, Cystic Fibrosis, FLW and MLF fishing tournaments. He also enjoyed fishing beyond the Twin Lakes area. Every year he, Chelsey, his good buddies Henery and Rhonda Porter and Jason Johnson would travel to Lake Fork Texas to fish. Chelsey was always keeping food on the table and kept the men in check!

Aside from fishing, Dan also loved to hunt. He made many trips with friends and family up to Colorado to elk hunt. Over the years, he got some showstoppers, but he never rubbed it in and always cheered on his friends (even if their mounts were smaller than his)! He also attended an annual deer hunting trip in Illinois with his close friends Randy and Carla Pope. He would forever be on hunt for ''The Big Buck''. The first year he brought Chelesy along, she brought in a bigger rack than he did! In true Dan fashion, he was not jealous, but proud and excited.

When he wasn't working or exploring the outdoors, Dan loved going to the casino. And boy did he know how to hit the jackpot! He and Chelsey spent many weekends at the casino enjoying a fish or steak dinner. And if you weren't next to him, he always had a ''jackpot'' picture ready to send!

Dan had many talents and hobbies. Woodworking, construction projects and house flipping were a few of his favorites. He also loved to cook, entertain family and friends and play games. If you were ever lucky enough to spend a holiday with Dan, you know exactly what we're talking about!

When Dan joined First Arkansas Bail Bonds in 1995, he had no idea where his career would take him. Dan will always be considered one of the best Bondsmen in the state of Arkansas. He held one of the longest active licenses in the state and mentored countless agents. Dan set the bar for agents and companies across the state. He was known and respected for his fearlessness and his ability to find skips. He was tough but fair. ''Bad Boys, Bad Boys'' had nothing on Dan The Man!

When Dan finally decided it was time to retire from bail bonds, he continued to participate in the law enforcement community by being a supporter of the Arkansas State Sherriff's Conventions. Every year he'd help host the sheriffs, helping to prepare food, organize the events and spend time getting to know each sheriff. He also served as a volunteer for the Northeast Lakeside Fire Department.

If we had to sum up Dan in a few words, which is clearly hard to do, we'd say that he never met a stranger, but if he did, he welcomed them with open arms. Dan had a heart for children, animals and all people.

Dan loved bigger than most people are capable of and if you were a part of his circle, there was no question where his loyalty stood.

We will miss Dan's smile and his laugh. We'll miss joining him on hunting and fishing trips and weekends to the casino. We'll miss stopping by the bail bond office to catch up and calling him for advice on home improvement projects. Above all else, we will miss Dan's love that he shared with everyone who knew him.
