I served in the Army.
Allan R. Hale

of Conway, AR

September 28, 1931 - August 29, 2025

On Friday, August 29, 2025, Allan R. Hale passed away peacefully at his home in Conway. He was born in Grand Rapids, MI to the late George and Dorothy Hale.

Al, as he was affectionately known, was a brilliant man with a knack for machinery. During the Korean War, he served in the Army as a mechanic, maintaining and repairing various military vehicles. After the war, he worked for FMC Corporation for 34 years, working up the ranks to Engineer. Once retired, he found a love for travel, exploring the US with his wife and children.

In his spare time, Al enjoyed helping his children and neighbors with various carpentry and yard work tasks; repairing roofs, building porches and using his lawnmower and tractor to mow his neighbors' yards and keeping his neighborhood street manicured.

Those who knew him will remember his boisterous belly laugh, his tenderness for the neighborhood dogs and his love for freshly baked donuts. Al took daily walks with his loyal furry companions, Blacky, Beacon, Harley and Spud and graced a local bakery for donuts and coffee every morning, until he couldn't anymore.

He is survived by two sons, Darrel Hale (Amy) of Haslett, MI, Dale Hale of Conway, AR, and four daughters, Shannon Hale of Conway, Yvonne Connor (Cecil) of Suwanee, GA, Paula Hale and Karen Hale of Conway, AR; six grandchildren, Amanda Connor, Greg Connor, Hannah Connor, Zac Connor, Andrew Hale (Brittani) and Vanessa Hale Schlabach (Larry); one great grandchild, Mason Schlabach and several nieces and nephews.

Al is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 41 years, Charlene Hale; his sisters, Bonnie Bryant and Phyllis Hale and his companion, Norma Clendenin.

A visitation will be from 6pm to 8pm on Thursday, September 4, 2025 at the Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway, AR. Graveside service will be held at 11am on Friday, September 5, 2025 at Crestlawn Memorial Park in Conway, AR.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.

I always enjoyed Uncle Al on his yearly trips to Michigan along with Shannon. Both were so kind to give my mom a ride to the Livingston reunions each year. He was a very caring man and talked so fondly of everyone. He will be missed
