Richard ''GONNA'' Walter Furr Jr., age 72, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2025, leaving behind a legacy filled with love, adventure and service. An Army veteran, Richard proudly served his country and exemplified dedication and honor throughout his life.
A passionate outdoorsman, Richard enjoyed hunting deer, ducks and squirrels, finding joy in the thrill of the chase and the tranquility of nature. He also loved fishing, often sharing these moments with family and friends, creating cherished memories by the water.
As a successful business owner, Richard was known for his hard work and commitment to excellence. He impacted many lives through his work and generosity.
Richard was preceded in death by Ivy Gaylord (mother), Richard Furr (father), Diane Sutton (sister), Daniel Bumgardner (nephew), Evelyn Sampley (aunt).
Richard is survived by Donna Furr (wife), Scott Furr (son), Christopher Furr (son), Tiffany Wellington (favorite heifer), Shasta Griffin (Jason Griffin) (niece) and many families and friends who will carry his memory in their hearts. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at 1:00 pm at First Pentecostal Church, North Little Rock, 1401 Calvary Road, North Little Rock, Arkansas 72116, where family and friends are invited to celebrate Richard's life and share their fondest memories.
Sad to see a good friend go. Rick had such a giving heart & donated thousands of dollars in time, equipment and paid wages in the construction of the Scott Pentecostal Church. He and Scotty also helped me on several construction jobs of my own. I’ll never forget his friendship, generosity and the many lively conversations over the past 30 years.
He will be greatly missed in our community, especially at McSwain’s.
