Dear Elvira’s family - the love of the Carter family for the Jones family flows deep and wide, and began with our mothers’ love for each other. When one hurt, the other felt the pain, and when one experienced joy, they both did. As a result of their love and respect, one for the other, so too did we Carter kids love your mom. She was our second mom, and we know it was only because of your mom’s tender care of us that enabled our mom (Lib Carter) to work 45+ hours each week as ASTC / SCA / UCA’s Postmaster for 34 years. Long after we Carter kids were “grown,” their friendship and love continued, as has ours for her, now 20 years after Mom died in 2005.
I last saw Elvira last fall and talked with her around Christmas. She was so proud of you all, and loved you so much. Forever we will be grateful to you all for sharing her with us. Thank you. Bless you.
Now, as you grieve her death, I pray God will hold you all very gently. May you know God’s love, Christ’s peace, and Holy Spirit’s strong comfort and fellowship. Amen.
We love you … the Carter kids:
Susie, Johnny & Phil.
Rest in Peace Elvira you will truly be missed by your family and friends.❤️🙏🏾
