of West Helena, AR
February 3, 1975 - August 16, 2025
Norma Hamrick Roberson, 50, of West Helena, Ark., passed away on August 16, 2025. She was born in Starkville, Miss., on February 3, 1975, and grew up in Tunica, Miss.
Norma lived with a humble heart, quick wit, and a deep love for animals, music, and family. She studied English and linguistics at the University of Memphis and later pursued Counseling Psychology, guided by her genuine curiosity about people and her gift for listening. She found joy in caring for animals, making music with her husband, and laughing with those she loved.
The loss of her only son, John-Battle Hamrac, was the greatest sorrow of her life. Yet through faith, music, and the love of her husband, Patrick, she found strength to keep moving forward. Those who knew Norma remember her as a thoughtful listener, a loyal cheerleader, and someone who believed the world could and should be kinder. She had a gift for lifting others with humor, encouragement, and a sharp wit that could lighten even the heaviest conversations.
She is survived by her husband, Patrick Roberson of West Helena, Ark.; stepsons, Will Roberson of Bigelow, Ark., and Quint Roberson of Austin, Ark.; her mother, Lil Battle Long, and husband, Henry Earl, of Deeson, Miss.; her brother, Battle Hamrick, and wife, Courtney, along with a niece and two nephews, of Strayhorn, Miss.; and her uncle, aunts, and seven first cousins. She was preceded in death by her son, John-Battle Houston Hamrac; her father, William Hal Hamrick; her grandfather, Paul Battle Jr.; and her grandmother, Norma Hooker Battle.
Norma's warmth, resilience, and humor touched many lives, and her spirit lives on in the kindness she inspired and the love she shared for all creatures.
