Charles Riner Gibbins, 86, of Compton, Arkansas passed away peacefully on August 17, 2025. Riner was born on January 7, 1939 in Compton, Arkansas where he spent his life surrounded by the beauty of the Ozarks and the love of family and friends. He will be remembered for his quiet strength, deeply rooted faith and unwavering love for his family.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Cleo Gibbins; daughter, Rena Collier, her husband, David, their sons, Brady and Brandon, their wives and children; son, Michael Gibbins, his daughter, Tabetha Gibbins; son, Dempsey Gibbins; his daughters, Amy Wells, Kayla Quandt and Jessica Hedges with their husbands and children; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and a host of dear friends throughout the community.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Jessie (Beaver) Gibbins; five sisters, Nola Newberry, Vola Griggs, Willie Arbaugh, Freda Villines and Bernice Gibbins; four brothers; Clifford, Ebert, Berlon, Ocalee and his son, Gary Gibbins.
A visitation honoring Riner's life was held on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at Roller Christeson Funeral Home.
Funeral service was held Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home, with Craig Villines and Brent Johnson officiating.
Burial followed at Crossroads Cemetery near Compton.
Pallbearers were Randy Gibbins, Donnie Gibbins, Brady Collier, Brandon Collier, Logan Collier, Maddox Baker, Ethan Edwards and Kaden Quandt.
Honorary Pallbearers were Garvin Gibbins, David Collier, Cameron Quandt, Brian Wells, and Zach Hedges.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to The Springs Nursing Home for their compassionate care.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you remember them in your thoughts and prayers.
So sorry to hear about Riner, he was the last of my aunts and uncles. The good news is they are all together in a better place. May God watch over and comfort you until you see him again.
