Glenda Carolyn McKay, 87, of Searcy, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2025.
Born on July 27, 1938, Glenda lived a life defined by her faith, family, and service to others. She was a devoted member of Mount Bethel Freewill Baptist Church, where she found joy and strength in her relationship with the Lord. She also volunteered her time and compassion at the Searcy First Methodist Church Thrift Shop.
Glenda loved nothing more than being with her family. She enjoyed all kinds of needlework (especially knitting), canning and she created many gifts and keepsakes to share with those she loved. She was also well-known for her delicious home cooking, especially her famous fried chicken, which brought loved ones together around the table. Her warm heart, generous spirit, and unwavering faith will be remembered by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Coy Lee and Manola Kramer, and her daughter, Leah Loy Harbin. She is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Jerry McKay; her children Debbie Bell (Scotty) of Conway, AR; Jenna Bassett (Mike) of St. Maries, ID; Denver McKay of Austin, AR; Cynthia Bennett (Matt) of Little Rock, AR; and Deanna McKay of Searcy, AR.
Her grandchildren are Eric Bell (Jamie) of Conway, AR; Adam Bell (Alye) of Conway, AR; Rudy Baraga (Jessie) of Coeur d'Alene, ID; Fallon Jones (Gary) of Twin Falls, ID; Ryan Weeks (Jacob) of Searcy, AR; Canyon Harbin (Brooke) of Lowell, AR; Cole Bennett of Little Rock, AR; Caylan Bennett of Little Rock, AR; Josh Rowe of Searcy, AR; and Julia Rowe of Searcy, AR. She was also blessed with 13 great-grandchildren and is survived by her brother, George Lee Kramer of Millington, TN, along with many, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 18, 2025, at Mount Bethel Freewill Baptist Church, 5286 Hwy 36 Rose Bud, AR 72137, with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. also at Mount Bethel. A burial will follow the service at Mount Bethel Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mount Bethel Freewill Baptist Church.
Glenda's life was a testament to her faith, her devotion to her family, and her gift for making others feel loved and cared for. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

I will miss her terribly she was always sunshine made me smile i will miss her sitting in front of me. Met her over 29 years great lady.

Glenda was a sweet lady who volunteered at Searcy First Methodist Church Thrift Shop Missions 20+ years. She was faithful to serve even when she was having many health issues. We loved her smile and gentle manner. All of us at SFMCTS will miss her. Shalom
