Joseph (Joe) Danial Johnsey II

of Mountain Home, AR

April 24, 1941 - August 9, 2025

Joseph Danial Johnsey II passed away August 9, 2025 at Hospice Of The Ozarks Hospice House. He was born April 21, 1941 in Valdese, North Carolina to Joseph and Edith (Badger) Johnsey. He was raised by his mother, Edith and Clint Conklin in southern Virginia and northern North Carolina.

After high school, he helped landscape the Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina and Virginia. He then began his journey as a miner at Ore Knob Copper Mine in North Carolina. When the mine closed, he moved up to God's country: Leadville, Colorado. He started working at Climax Molybdenum Mine in the early 1960s. When that mine closed, he did a four year stint in western Kansas. He then continued his mining career in Arkansas. Only then he was mining poultry instead of rocks at Wayne Farms in Danville, Arkansas.

He married the love of his life, Judi, on August 7, 1975. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this year. Together they raised seven children, spawned and spoiled 16 grandchildren and 7 1/2 great grandchildren. He never quit teaching them about God's green earth and its abundances.

Throughout his life, he was an avid fisherman, hunter, gardener, woodworker and sometimes a golfer.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Edith and Clint Conklin; brother, Bill Johnsey and son-in-law, Troy Bennett.

He is survived by his loving wife, Judi Johnsey of Mountain Home, Arkansas; his sister, Sharon (Mike) Roberts of Cary, North Carolina; his sister-in-law, Kathy Johnsey of Lovell, Wyoming; Their children, Joseph Danial III of Hawaii, Tammy (Dave) Stockert of Englewood, Colorado, Dawn (Dave) Levinson of Framingham, Massachusetts, Denise (Jeff) Barnhardt of Grandville, Michigan, Leigh Anne (Dan) Gentry of O'Fallon Illinois, Scott (Kerre Marchant) Stout of Teton Valley, Idaho, Tony (Farah) Stout of Midwest City, Oklahoma; Their grandchildren, Stephanie Swanson, Adam Stockert, Robin Levinson, Hayden Levinson, Michael Bennett, Abbi Bennett, Laura Van Divier, Jack Gentry, Martha Stout, Mary Stout, Joshua Combs, Mackenzie Fox, Gates Fikes, Avery Stout, Ella Stout and Luke Stout; Their great grandchildren, Bradley, Noah, Benjamin and Grayson; Jack and his expected sibling; Arthur and Callum and many other family and friends.

Dear Judy, I sit in front of you at Church. I was so sad to hear about your husband's passing. While you are going through a difficult time, as I still am, you are a strong woman and with your family and friends around you, you will make it through. And don't worry too much about Joe, I've said so many Chaplets of Mercy, he's well on his way to heaven. God bless you.
