Charles David Tanner, 77, of Jonesboro, AR passed away on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. He was born on June 25, 1948 in Clover Bend, AR to James Jerald Sr. and Mary Elizabeth (Jean) Tanner. Charles was a native of Batesville and graduated from Batesville High School class of 1966. He obtained a bachelor's degree in biology and environmental economics and went on to work in the oil fields. Many of his adult years were spent in Iquitos, Peru where he lived with his wife, Nancy. He was of the Baptist faith and loved fishing and canoeing.

Charles is preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Nancy Dantas (Sabina) Tanner of Iquitos, Peru; brother, James Tanner Jr. and a sister, Charlotte Finney.

Those left to cherish his memory are his sister, Dorothy Winters; his children, Ariana Dantas, Luciana Dantas and Moises Dantas of Iquitos, Peru and many other nieces and nephews, cousins, friends, family and loved ones.

A memorial service will be held on August 16, 2025 at 1:00 pm at the Brookland Methodist Church, 301 W. Matthews St, Brookland, AR.
