of Conway, AR

September 7, 1979 - July 25, 2025

James Earl Davis II, a cherished husband, devoted father, beloved son and loyal friend, passed away on July 25, 2025 in Conway, Arkansas at the age of 45. Born on September 7, 1979 in Forrest City, Arkansas, James was the son of Penny and Earl Davis. He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Davis.

James is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Brooke and their precious daughters, Harper and Evy, who were the light of his life. He also leaves behind his mother, Penny Davis; his sister, Kylee Davis and a host of deeply loved nieces, extended family members and countless friends who will miss him dearly.

James graduated from Forrest City High School in 1997. Driven by a passion for knowledge, he went on to earn his Bachelor's Degree in Health Information Management from UAMS and a Master's Degree in Operations Management from the University of Arkansas. At the time of his passing, James served as the Director of Privacy Offices at the VA in Little Rock, a role he approached with dedication and integrity.

Above all, James was an incredible husband and father. Friends and family consistently remarked on what an exceptional and selfless dad he was. He cherished his family, always putting them first, and would do anything to ensure their happiness. His greatest joy was the time he shared with Brooke and their girls, creating lasting memories.

When he wasn't busy being an exceptional husband and father, James found solace and enjoyment in the outdoors. He loved fishing, camping, playing golf and had such an eclectic love for music.

James was widely known for his kindness and his willingness to help out wherever he could. He found true joy in serving others, often working diligently behind the scenes at Center Church where he was a faithful member and served on the church board. James possessed an incredible sense of humor and loved to make others laugh, brightening every room he entered. He was also an exceptional cook, delighting in preparing incredible meals for those he cared about.

James lived a life marked by deep character, exceptional integrity, selfless generosity and unwavering service to others. He was a true family man, an exceptional friend, and most importantly, a faithful follower of Jesus. His warmth, humor and compassionate spirit will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Center Church (1501 Scott St., Conway, AR 72034) on Saturday, August 2nd at 10:00 AM.

Please know that your family is our thoughts and prayers. I remember the young James living next to Mrs. Davenport. When Kendall and I married James came over played basketball . Kendall said James would always want to play with the older boys. Ken , Keith and others. My heart felt much joy knowing he put Christ, family and friends first in his life. Our deepest condolences for his sweet wife, girls , and Kaylee and you.

I feel blessed to call James my uncle. He was there when you needed a laugh, and there when you needed another opinion on life and anything that came with it. I remember the trail of grins and giggles he’d leave behind, and forever cherish all the camping trips together hoping I’d beat him at just one more game of cornhole eventually. He truly was the epitome of laughter and kindness, and always walked with a sense of joy around him. He wasn’t afraid to give you the tough life advice when it was needed, but it never came from anywhere other than a place of love, and it was always followed with a big ole James hug. He was a good man, and the perfect father and husband, nothing less than devoted.
Aunt Brooke, I can’t even begin to imagine what you’re going through. He loved you so much and so passionately. I remember smiling up at you two as a girl because there was never anything other than just sweet, beautiful love between y’all. His love will stay with you forever and I just pray that you can lean on the Lord and family to make it through. I love you so much and will be here always.
Harper and Evy, you were his pride and joy in life. He loved being a dad, but he really loved being y’all’s dad. He truly enjoyed every moment of it and beamed when he talked about y’all. His love and strength is forever alive in both of you, and I hope it helps carry you through these moments. I’m so proud of you girls, your dad was too and he always will be proud of you. I’ll be here no matter what, no matter when, I love you.
Uncle James, you were a light to this world, one we can’t ever replace. Thank you for being you, for loving us all the way you did, and for all the stories left behind that will keep you in our hearts forever. Brooke, Harper, and Evy, I love you all so much and I’m here with open arms, and praying you can find comfort, always ❤️

I've known James just about my entire life - as long as I can remember.

Anybody who has met James will agree - to know him is to laugh with him. His infectious, sharp, humor is bested only by his genuine love & care for those around him.

James' death is a tragedy and far, FAR too soon. His loss is devastating to our entire family, but I know he lives on with Harper, Evy, & Brooke, who he clearly loved so very much.

To Brooke, Harper, & Evy: we love you so much & are mourning right here with you.❤️

To James: We all miss you so much already. Listening to 'Peanut Butter Jelly Time' & thinking of you.

James was such an amazing person. I don’t even know where to begin when talking about James. He loved Brooke, Harper and Evy so fiercely. He was there for you, no matter what. He was a hard working man. If you were down, he always had some kind of silly joke to make you smile. He would do anything for anyone and he would think nothing of it. I was so lucky to have James as my brother-in-law. He loved with all his heart and wasn’t afraid to show you that love.

Brooke - I can’t even begin to imagine what you are going through. James was such an amazing husband for you and you two fit so perfectly. He loved you with everything, as you did him. He lit up every time you walked in the room and would shout from the mountain tops just how much he loved you. I love you so much, Brooke. Whatever you need, we are here.

Harper and Evy - You girls had such a loving, caring and goofy Dad. He would’ve done anything in this world for you. He was so proud to be Harper and Evy’s dad. He was a girl dad and proud of it!! We are here for you girls if you ever need anything. We love you both so much.

The world isn’t going to be the same without James in it. We have lost a great light. I will miss you, James. Thank you for your advice and always being willing to jump in and help, no matter what. Thank you for being there. Thanks for the silly jokes. We loved you so much.

Brooke, Harper and Evy - We love you and you are in our hearts and prayers. Please let us know what you need. 💜 💜

My Darling Brooke, Harper and Evy, we are so incredibly blessed to have had the pleasure to know your husband and father, James. What an amazing life he lived. It has always been clear how very much he loved you all and his heartfelt service to the Lord was always evident. I’ve told our friends here that if you looked up in the dictionary “The Perfect Family”, your picture would be there!! He brought smiles to the faces of those he met and I never heard him speak an unkind word, ever!! Although our time together was brief, it will be cherished forever. Please know how very much we love you girls!! I’m so glad you’re mine!!! 💜💜💜

James was an example of what a devoted husband and father should be. If you knew James, you knew he loved and cherished his family. I will strive to treat my wife the way James did Brooke. There was never a more doting husband. He was a good uncle to my girls, even when I was in no state to be the same to his. He was a shoulder to cry on and a man who would give you real advise Not what you wanted to hear but the LOVING TRUTH.
There’s a light missing from the world now. He left more love behind in his tragically short life than people twice his age. When I die, I want people to remember me and my legacy the way people do James’. A legacy of LOVE FAMILY AND SERVICE.
I will forever miss my fishing buddy. I will always miss the man who would tell me I was wrong and needed to adjust. I will cheer for the browns in your memory.
Brooke my little sister I love you. My heart aches for you. I have no words. Harper, Evy you girls are so beautiful and strong. You were the light of your father’s life. He lives on through you. We love you. Please know you are all loved With all my love and condolences ♥️♥️♥️♥️
