Robert ''Bob'' Koenigseder, 93, of Scranton, Arkansas passed away on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was born on October 26, 1931 in Scranton to his parents, George Joseph and Marie Gertrude (Koch) Koenigseder.
Bob was a 1950 graduate of Subiaco Academy and was a United States Army veteran. He worked for several years as a small appliance and TV repairman and had a dairy and beef cattle farm. He served as the Scranton mayor for four years and was vital in acquiring city water for his home town. He was an avid baseball fan and loved to follow the Los Angeles Dodgers. He served on the Farm Bureau Board for over 48 years and was a dedicated member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church and the Fr. Raphael DeSalvo Knights of Columbus Council 14619.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one son, Robert Alan Koenigseder; two sisters, Patricia Koenigseder and Mary Ann Frederick and one brother, James Koenigseder.
He is survived by his wife of over 69 years, Wanda (Hamilton) Koenigseder of Scranton; three daughters, Diane Tencleve and husband, David of Ozark, Debra Lee and husband, Dylan of Ratcliff and Rhonda Forst and husband, Steve of Charleston; one son, Greg Koenigseder and wife, Cindy of Fort Smith; three sisters, Doris Davis of Dublin, Betty Jansen of Greenwood and Joan Day of Fort Smith; one brother, William Koenigseder and wife, Mary Rita of Fort Smith; 13 grandchildren, Michelle Laitinen, Keith Tencleve, Angela Winters, Bobby Koenigseder, Jeffery Koenigseder. Ashley Anhalt, Alexa Carpenter, Paige Spencer, Deacon Hardwicke, Ryleigh Montgomery, Brianna Verkamp, Kalen Forst and Alyssa Forst; 16 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 6:00-7:00 p.m. with the rosary service to begin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 11, 2025 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Scranton.
The funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church with burial to follow in St. Ignatius Cemetery under the direction of Roller Funeral Home in Paris.
Pallbearers will be Keith Tencleve, Bobby Koenigseder, Jeffery Koenigseder, Deacon Hardwicke, Kalen Forst, Kenny Frederick, Jim Koch and Roger Koenigseder.
Honorary pallbearers will be all of his friends from Dan's Shop, Jim Ahne's and the 4-Way Quick Stop.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Fr. Raphael DeSalvo Knights of Columbus Council 14619.
