Jay A. Love, of Haskell, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at Saline Memorial Hospital in Benton.
Jay was born at Fort Sam Houston Army Hospital to Arnold E. (Jack) Love and Sara E (Moreman) Love when his Dad was stationed there. Jay was the youngest of three children and loved to travel, which the family did during their father's 21-year Military career with the Army.
Born in Texas, moving to Pennsylvania, then to Germany in 1960. When his Dad was stationed in Aschaffenburg, Germany, Jay and his brother Jon, along with 2 young teenagers started a band after learning to play the guitar and drums on their own. They played at the local youth clubs, NCO Club and anywhere they were asked to play. Upon returning to Pennsylvania, they continued playing at local YMCA's and the ELKS and other local clubs during their high school years.
After graduating high school, Jay joined the Air Force and was stationed at Bergstrom Air Force Base in Texas. After serving his country, Jay went to work as a supply specialist at New Cumberland Army Depot, in New Cumberland, Pennsylvania.
Later in life, Jay found his niche in flea marketing and spent several years traveling the country buying and selling antiques and other collectables, finally settling in Mayflower, Arkansas, where his parents and sister lived. He obtained his CDL License and drove for Schneider Trucking Company until he had to retire due to health reasons.
Jay was preceded in death by his loving parents and brother, Jon Love.
He is survived by his sister, Judith (Coy) Bearden of Mayflower; his Daughter, Jessica Ann Love (Charles) Tucker and her family of Casco, MI; Nephews; D.J. (Shannon) Barnett and his family of Marshall, Illinois, David (Nikki) Barnett, of Valrico, Florida and John Love, of St. Louis, Missouri.
Private Internment will be held at the NLR VA Cemetery. No services are planned.
