Carolyn Ann Britton passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones at her home in Marion, Arkansas on July 5, 2025 . Born in Galatia, Illinois on February 6, 1940 to Ted and Phyllis Shafer, who both preceded her in death.
Carol was a faithful member of Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and dedicated herself to service for nearly 50 years. She was an avid reader and enjoyed playing the piano, especially church hymns.
She loved spending time with her large family and cherished her time with friends, going on walks, playing cards and bunko. Summers were often spent canning vegetables from their large garden.
She worked alongside her husband, Donald Britton as the business manager of their family-owned company, Mid-Continent Laboratories, for 45 years.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Donald Britton and their seven children:

Carol is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; her brother, Phillip Shafer (Barbara) and nephews.
A visitation will be held at 1:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 PM on Monday, July 14th at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in West Memphis, Arkansas.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Carol loved her family so much. She was such a good Christian and was loved by her friends. Heaven's door has been opened for her, and she is greatly missed, Prayers for her family .
