He then went to work for his brother at H.W. Tucker Farms working cattle and helping around the farm, which was one of his favorite things to do.
He enjoyed spending time with his grandkids, gardening and having everyone together at his house.

Our heartfelt prayers go out to Jimmy's entire family at this time. I don't think I can ever recall ever seeing him without a smile on his face.
Uncle Jim was raised by two of the best parents I’ve ever known and it showed in how he helped Aunt Shirley raise their family. He was a really good man and well respected by many. He always treated me like one of his own anytime I was around him and for that I am grateful. Jimmy, Billy, Alma, and Priscilla always treated me like a sibling and that was a direct reflection of how they were raised. One of my best memories as a kid was Christmas every year at Ma and Pa Evan’s. I couldn’t wait for Uncle Jim to get there because sometimes he would show up looking like John Dutton from the show YELLOWSTONE. As a kid, seeing him all dressed up like a cowboy was a highlight for me and something I will always remember. My prayers are with all of the family. Uncle Jim will be missed but never forgotten. Love ya Unc
