Helen Dean Hill

of Sand Springs, OK

January 15, 1932 - July 1, 2025

Helen Dean (Apple) Hill, 93, of Sand Springs, Oklahoma passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 in Sand Springs. She was born on January 15, 1932 in Millard, Arkansas to her parents, Alfred Lee and Helen Irene (Sharp) Apple.

Helen was a dedicated homemaker who was an exceptional seamstress. She loved to be in the garden with her husband and could be found canning fruits and vegetables all summer long. Along with sewing and being in the garden, Helen also enjoyed fishing, baking and teaching others how to cook and sew. She baked many desserts for neighbors, friends and even restaurants. She passed down countless recipes for her children and grandchildren throughout the years. Helen was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Paris, Arkansas, as well as the EH club in Paris. She loved her family and was a great daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandma, aunt and friend; but most of all she loved her Heavenly Father. She was adored by all her grandchildren. She always made each of them feel special, but yet they were never jealous of each other because she made each of them feel as though they were her favorite. She taught her family love, kindness, the importance of family, to always work hard, but above all, she put Christ first in all that she did. Her willingness to give and help others was inspiring. Her ability to turn scraps into something beautiful with her quilts and other sewing projects were something to be admired by all. She was such an amazing example of what Jesus teaches us to be.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her step mother, Nellie Apple; her husband, Harley Edward Hill; one son, Jerry Don Hill; one grandson, Harley Gene Bridges and two brothers, Charles Apple and Joe Apple.

She is survived by three daughters, Edwina Bridges of Paris, Arkansas; Reba Orton and husband, Stephen of Cushing, Oklahoma and Lawana Sexton of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; one son, Terry Hill of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; one sister, Mary Hixson and husband, Ronald of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; one brother, George Apple and wife, Nancy of Tulsa, Oklahoma; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 11, 2025 at Roller Funeral Home Chapel in Paris.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at Corley Cemetery in Paris officiated by Rev. Stephen Orton under the direction of Roller Funeral Home.

To the Family of Helen Apple Hill, Words cannot express the Joy and pleasure I had when I met Helen and family members . They welcomed me with open arms as a caregiver for Helen. I enjoyed listening to all the Wonderful Stories , Helen told about her life and family on the mountains in Arkansas. Some was Educational, some was hilarious , all and all she enjoyed her family to the fullest. Each piece of fabric she mended had a story. Although Helen has moved on to her Mansion, her stories will always be remembered by all she came in contact with. She is now wearing her Crown of Glory walking through the Beautiful Garden fillled with Flowers hand in hand with her Brother Charles whom I had the pleasure of meeting with his Sweet Spirit. My condolences to Lawana, Reba, Edwina, Terry, and Mary. May God always be you allls comforter. I willl always cherish Helen Memories. She was Quite a Celebtity. Humbly Submitted, Dana , the Caregiver.
